Good building, disappointing unit
We had a good time in Topsail, despite our stay in this unit. While I would recommend this complex for a family looking for an easy beachfront stay with a pool and other amenities, I would absolutely never stay in this unit again. No doubt the view is fantastic, but that is where the fun stops. While it was generally clean, and some furniture was comfortable, the kitchen was poorly appointed, the beds were not comfortable, and everything was worn down (doorknobs were broken, towel rack was busted, dresser drawers wouldnât shut, dishes stained, faucets leaked, drains were clogged upon arrival). NOTE: The internet did not function our entire stay; this listing opted for guests to use the buildings public wi-fi, vs providing a private network (like other units do). When we asked mgmt or building staff to help with the internet, they just told us to call the HOA or Spectrum, vs helping. While otherwise this wouldnât be a huge deal, the unit also has horrible cell reception so we could not access internet. Finally, the AC did not cool the bedrooms at all. It was at least 10 degrees warmer in the bedrooms than the unit thermostat (81 per our baby monitor vs 70). It also seems like mgmt know this is an issue because all over the check in documents they note that they will not fix the AC if it is not cool enough by guests standard and suggest that guests donât lower the thermostat below 72. Finally, the ice-ing on the cake - the listing claims an ice maker, which it does not have.
