Kenai River access! Cute little cabin with a loft
Enjoy this cute little cabin close to the Kenai River, fishing, restaurants, and market, Efficiency kitchen , and a shared washer/ dryer (good faith box)with laundry soap ,(hypoallergenic) up-to-date bathroom, a deep freezer for your fish a picnic table and bbq . This cabin sleeps 2 people
Home was ok. Dangerous stairs for someone over 50 and hit my head multiple times on upstairs ceiling. Two burners in kitchen for cooking so watch what you buy theres no stove. I also thought it was outrageous that the owner charges you $10.00 for each load of laundry you do this was a first I have ever had that happen. We travel quite often and we were blown away by that.
The hosts were pleasant and responsive. The place was clean and comfortable. The drawbacks are the steps to the loft and low sloping ceiling. The stairs are narrow, steep, too much height between steps, no railing and very small top step. When you reach the top step duck or youâll hit your head as the ceiling slopes with very little headroom unless standing in the center of the loft.
Cute cottage just a few issues. We had no key to secure the front door, tv did not work, black out drapes would be nice, we came back from being out all day and found the stove on while the knob was in the off position. Otherwise great place to store our stuff.
Cabins are smaller than they appear online. No big deal though, we made it work. River access is a public access point with LOTS of people which was discouraging. I assumed the river access was a private access point or something, not just close to a public access point. Freezer space was adequate, definitely a plus there. Good little tire swing set up for kids to play on which they enjoyed. Floor had a soft spot right in the middle, thought we were going to fall through at some point and stairs to the upstairs might as well be a ladder. It was an ok stay. Rabekka was very helpful but itâs definitely gear towards minimal time spent at the cabin and just a place to sleep. Some coat hooks on the outside of the shacks would have been great to hang waders and maybe a fire pit with firewood to hang out at night.
