Wonderfully designed, warm and clean cabin with stunning views over the fjord. The local area is quiet and peaceful, with beautiful dark skies at night, allowing fantastic views of the northern lights when they get going, particularly great from the hot tub! We’ve stayed here 3 times and I hope we’ll be back many more.

Perfect hideaway

We had a fantastic stay here, the house is very well equipped, the views are breathtaking. I can highly recommend staying here. If it's peace and a feeling of having your own slice of Norway all to yourself for a break then I can think of no better place. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you Remi

Perfect peaceful retreat

We loved everything about this house, it was perfect for what we wanted. It was so peaceful and the scenery was amazing and constantly changing. We even caught a glimpse of the northern lights at 2am one morning. The shops are a 20 minute drive away so make sure you have food with you if you arrive later in the day ☺️

The house is perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the view. We even saw an eagle a couple of times.Since we were confused about the number of beds/ bedrooms: There is two bedrooms downstairs. One with a double bed and one with a bunk bed (double bed on the bottom and single bed above)

Magical!

The immaculate and ideally located cabin made for a magical vacation! Everything in the cabin was very clean and well-stocked. We appreciated use of the kitchen, the hot tub, the views, etc. Additionally, Remi went above and beyond to help us with planning, research, and a problem we had with our car while we were there. Be sure to visit the reindeer farm, use the sauna and polar plunge facility in Sortland, and check out a local salmon farm.

Great house, great location, great host

We are very happy to have booked this house this time of the year (winter wonderland). A good starting point to travel across Vesterålen (Bleik, Stokmarknes, Bø, Nyksund…). We felt at home from the very beginning (cosy, clean, well equipped). The three things we appreciated the most: This great house with its phenomenal view (Northern lights, whales, elks near the house, …). The stillness. The dog-sledding tour at Villmarkssenter with Hilde and Bjørn. Highly recommendable, anytime again. Takk skal du ha.

"WOW"! what more can I say ?

If you have ever considered visiting anywhere in Scandinavia ...Norway is the place to go . This Sortland 'Cabin' is definitely the place to stay ! My husband & I have stayed through HomeAway for many years. We have met many wonderful owners and enjoyed so many gorgeous stays. Remi and May are the Best of the best ! From day one every question we had was answered quickly and completely. Remi helped us plan our flights, car rental and sight seeing. He was always there for us, (if we needed him to translate) but Never intrusive. From the 'cabin', which is really a stunning house...We was Eagles, Whales, and the Northern Lights. Yes, THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ! If you are looking to be amazed, have an adventure or just relax with a book...This IS the cabin for you! Thank you Remi and May !!!

Best holidays ever

Best holidays ever. For sure. We rented this absolutely amazing cabin for one week in late March 2015. Main facts you have to consider before renting this cabin : 1. Extraordinary view : the cabin is west facing. So, you can enjoy the weather changing all day long. From bright sun to snowstorm in few hours. Incredible. From the terrace or from the living room, you can't be bored by the view. 2. Perfect Kitchen : perfectly equiped/furnished. 3. The hot tub : what a strange feeling to be in a hot tub with snow all around you! Very pleasant while seeing the sunset. You only can be disturbed by the noise from dolphins, seals or eagles. There are worst things to be disturbed by, no? 4. The area : very calm and so beautiful. 5. The owner : you can be sure that Remi will do the best for you to enjoy your holidays. And he will succeed! 6. Aurora borealis : what a magical show! The cabin is in a perfect place to see them. Away from big cities, clear horizon... 7. A lot of activities to do around the cabin : we spent a lot of time on the beach just in front of the cabin, visit a Sami family (feeding the reinders), sledding with our daughter aged 4... If you are reading these lines, you should contact Remi and arrange your holidays. You will remember those holidays for a very long time. Adèle, Aurélie and Didier. Paris, France.
