Calfkiller Cottage

Calfkiller Cottage is located just off the Calfkiller river. Centrally located in Tennessee, it is within 2 hours driving distance to many desired tourist attractions. It is close to shopping, waterfalls, boating, fishing, hiking and kayaking. You can fish and bring your catch home to cook on either the gas or charcoal grill! In the mornings you can relax and enjoy your coffee on the back porch or the deck overlooking the natural backyard. You might even see a deer or two go through the property! In the afternoon/evening, you can relax by the secluded fire pit with a view of the Calfkiller River.
The house boasts 2 inviting bedrooms, each is adorned with cozy furnishings. The first has a queen bed with a door out to the deck which includes a hot tub. The other bedroom is furnished with a full bed. The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer and a refreshing shower. Our adorable and welcoming property also offers amenities like a washing machine, iron, WiFi, heating, and AC
Whether you're exploring the charming streets, indulging in local cuisine, or enjoying the many outdoor activities available in the area, our quaint house provides the perfect retreat for guests. Enjoy all that the Sparta area has to offer when you stay at our place.

As a side note, there are security cameras around the property (not on the hot tub or in the house) for security purposes.

We had a great time at the house. We brought our own kayak trailer, so we loved that the house had the under deck storage. Plenty of parking. The neighborhood is older, but it was very quiet and felt safe. The hot tub was a wonderful addition. The kitchen was well supplied and they even had cleaning supplies, paper towels, spices, butter, fridge condiments. More than we were expecting, because we brought our own supplies too. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were nice. That's always a huge plus. The shower is awesome and had great water pressure. No complaints other than they could add some chopping knives. So maybe just bring your one favorite from home if you plan to cook a lot like we did.

The house was clean, stocked with the essentials and has a beautiful piece of property. Even though it was in a residential area, it felt private and serene. LOVED the soft bed (guest room), the shower (amazing!) and the hot tub! I would definitely stay at this place again!

This cottage was perfect for my family. My teenage boys were thrilled to have a couch with recliners facing the TV just like home! They also loved the shower which had excellent water pressure. Our host shared restaurant recommendations and was easy to communicate with. The location was a great jumping off point for hiking in several state parks and exploring Cumberland Caverns. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed for 6 days. The house was perfectly located for chasing waterfalls. We seen 18 waterfalls in 4 days. The house had everything we needed. The hot tub was nice after hiking. The shower was awesome, might of been the best shower I’ve ever had.

Carol was very attentive via messages. Calfkiller Cottage was comfortable very quiet and well appointed. We were visiting family who lived 1.2 miles away so the location suited us well. Great shower with great water pressure. We would stay there again.

Very cozy, clean, and comfortable. I didn't have time to use the Jacuzzi, unfortunately, but it looked well maintained like the rest of the house. The neighborhood is quiet, and the location is very convenient.I would definitely recommend this property.

Eagle transport

We contacted the host prior to booking to discuss our unique situation. We were transporting an American bald eagle from OK to NC and needed an overnight stay. They were delighted to accommodate us (which was a huge relief)!The space was beautiful! Lots of room, all the amentities, located in a wooded area, bed was comfy and OMG .... the shower was heavenly!!! If you're driving a smaller car, parking in the drive is easy from the one-lane wide street. We were in our big truck, so we had to circle around the property and "4-wheel drive" it into the parking area (advised by host prior to arrival).Host was quick to reply to any questions and we (and Leroy) enjoyed our overnight stay in this quiet and beautiful place surrounded by trees.
