I am beyond disappointed. Bliss By The Sea was an absolute nightmare and nothing like what was advertised. I can’t believe I fell for such a scam. I had planned a romantic Thanksgiving weekend with my fiancé, but instead it turned into the worst travel experience I’ve ever had—and I’ve traveled all over the world.
The bathroom was unacceptable: no shower head, a bathtub so high it felt unsafe to use, and overall extremely tiny and outdated. The rest of the property was dusty, poorly maintained, and far from clean. To make matters worse, there was no staff onsite to assist with anything.
This place was marketed as a hotel, but in reality it felt more like a rundown Airbnb. It was absolutely not worth staying here, and I would never recommend it to anyone.
When I called Bliss By The Sea for help, I explained that we had paid for a Deluxe Suite with a jetted bathtub. Instead, they insisted we had booked a junior suite, refused to change our room, and told us we couldn’t get our money back—even though we had been there less than 30 minutes. They argued with me and directed me to complain to Travelocity, but I received no meaningful support there either. The only option was a chat agent who was unhelpful, and no one would speak to me directly on the phone.
In the end, we were forced to stay, lose our money, and watch my fiancé cry from disappointment. This trip broke our hearts. I am deeply disappointed in Bliss By The Sea, Travelocity, and the experience in St. Augustine overall.
