THE BEACH GETAWAY DREAM

The name says it all. It is a 2bedroom 2 bath condo with a loft that also sleeps two people located directly across the street from the beach . The huge windows provide one of the best views on the island. This unit was recently renovated and offers upscale accommodations with a family price.. The unit is dog friendly, pet fee depends on the type of dog. Each of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan to keep the cool sea breeze moving. The loft has two single beds. The front porch has comfortable rockers, so you can sip wine and watch the sun go down. The living room has 16 foot ceilings, with large windows facing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The sparkling pool has a covered deck and Weber charcoal grills for grilling after a long day at the beach or sightseeing.
This location allows you close access to the bike trail that spans the entire length of the island. Within walking distance to this place is waterfront dining offering great outdoor seating and live music most evenings, as well as the St. George Island Lighthouse. Just over the St. George Island Bridge is the bridge to Apalachicola which is one of Florida’s most historic coastal towns offering fresh seafood right out of the bay, fantastic art galleries, antique shops and unique nightlife.
Some of the popular pursuits on the island are swimming, walking, running, and cycling. The St. George Island State Park is located at the east end of the island.
As a fisherman, I can personally vouch for the great fishing spots. Some of the fish just waiting to be caught are: redfish, flounder, trout, and whiting.
Enjoy the world renowned 'Apalachicola' Oysters at most of the local hot spots.
St. George Island has one of the world's most stunning beaches and it is just steps from this quaint condo! Bring your friends or family and create the vacation that you have been dreaming of. I assure you this rental will have you in the middle of paradise, at a practical price. I also own another condo in the same facility.The name is "Coastal Cottage", number 590005 on VRBO. It too, is lovely. Check it out!

We really enjoyed SGI and although there were a few things that we didn’t care for, all in all, it was a pleasant place to stay. The pool was great as was the veranda. Options on the TV were limited (we wanted to watch the Ryder Cup but had to watch on an iPad), the bathroom could use some updating, and the walls between the condos were rather thin as we heard our neighbors talking every morning. It was a shame that the beach was across the road. But it was clean and suited our needs for 3 nights.

Family/Birthday vacation

Check in and out was easy finding condo was easy. Nice set up plenty of space. Plenty of towels plenty of pillows and blankets. We had one setback, but was able to contact management He was very helpful and accommodated us. St. George Island is beautiful. The people there very nice. We met different families and hung out with new people. The kids spent most of their time either in the pool or at the beach. The beach is very close distance definitely renting a golf cart next time to explore the island. We had a great time. Looking forward to going back next year.

Great for a short stay

The property location was nice, walking distance to the beach and biking distance to the nearest restaurants. The condo itself was very small and unclean. I do not recommend for a 5-6 night stay. I would’ve stayed here for a night or two. Overall, the place was nice because of the location but the cleanliness could’ve been better.

Enjoyable Stay

We enjoyed the design and decor of this comfortable place. Our group of 5 adults fit well for a two night stay. The beach was easily accessed on foot, just a few steps to the boardwalk and a few more to the beach. Our favorite parts of the island were the lighthouse, the state park hiking trails, hunting for seashells...and coming back to the house to relax and cook a fine supper.

Thanksgiving Vacay

Overall we were satisfied with our visit. Beautiful view and beach for a cold weekend. Issues included no toilet paper, no hairdryer, lights in front bathroom did not work, pool was not heated , living area fan and light would not turn off and multiple lights out. Owner was responsive to my texts. We were only there 2 nights. It’s a great location. We enjoyed our stay.

Great location

We really enjoyed the location's proximity to ocean and peace and quiet of the neighborhood (hardly any street traffic). Very nice patio as well but during our stay we did not have to share it with other renters. The Host was reachable, very nice and tried to rectify problems. On the bad side, the place needed cleaning--the floors and pots and pans were dirty. A better collection of pots and pans and cooking utensils are needed. We also lacked Wi-Fi during the stay.

Relaxing and roomy

We had to cut our trip short due to a death in the family but we enjoyed our time and the stay was great. There was no hot water during our stay but we didn’t really get to stay long enough to address it.
