Mesmerizing view with pool 2 bedroom stone cottage in Coral Bay

Welcome to Sailors Cottage, perched on a knoll overlooking Coral Bay and beyond to the British Virgin Islands, Sailors Cottage is your perfect family vacation getaway.
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the tranquil Caribbean Sea. Spend your day hiking or relaxing on a pristine National Park beach. Then come home to unwind on the well appointed pool deck, BBQ, take a dip in the pool, and relax with a cocktail while you relive the day’s adventures and watch the boats sail in to moor for the night.
Sailors Cottage is a 5 minute drive to all the shops and restaurants Coral Bay has on offer, but is just far enough away to feel private and away from it all. We are 15 to 20 minutes to the North Shore Beaches, SaltPond on the south shore and Hansen and Haulover on the East side.
Sailors Cottage is is a stone home with nautical accents. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a meal at home and there is even a dishwasher to help with the clean up. The water is triple filtered and UV treated, so no need for plastic bottles. The property is beautifully landscaped with many different types of palms and lots of colorful flowers.
Come stargaze at Sailors Cottage and enjoy beautiful St John in a quiet neighborhood far away from the hustle of daily life.
The property offers 2 bedrooms, one is a primary king suite with a bathroom, the second bedroom is more of a kids bunk room with 2 twin beds. Both bedrooms have AC units for a great nights sleep. There is a second full bathroom in the main living area. (If you are looking for 2 couples, we have another rental called Blue Kai which offers 2 king suites)
We are kid friendly, but do want to point out that the bedrooms are on the lower level and both have exterior entrances. While the doors are very close, this may not be the best for very young children. The pool is on the upper level with the main living areas, the stairs between the 2 levels are exterior stairs and it is not possible to lock off access to the pool. We have had children of all ages stay with us and we leave it to your comfort level and discretion.
The road to this property is mostly gravel with a few paved sections. It is a bit adventurous and we recommend a Jeep or something similar, it is not dangerous but you will need a bit of ground clearance.

Kim is an excellent host. She met us when we arrived and guided us the home. She walked us through the property, explaining where things were. We stood on the pool deck and she pointed out the grocery store, restaurants and described her favorite beaches. The home is great. Bed is comfortable, kitchen well stocked for cooking, pool is perfect. Star gazing from the deck was a nice treat. Kim responded quickly to questions we had about the island. Perfect!

The house and view is beyond amazing but Kim the host and her husband David go above and beyond any host I have met before they are there with tons of suggestions and very responsive to any concern. Kim even gave us a ride when our jeep broke down and offered to help us when our flight was cancelled she is amazing You will have nothing to worry about

Checkin was great. Road to home is extremely bumpy but worthwhile. Pool and view is phenomenal. Great place. No AC in the main unit. Dont forget to rub the belly of the Buddha.

Great View!

Overall we enjoyed Sailor’s Cottage. Great communication and orientation of the property by the host, Kim. The view was beautiful and we spent all of our evenings sitting outside by the pool. One of the only negatives was the road to the villa
be prepared because it’s rough. Not scary, just rough. We planned our day to only have traverse down and up once a day. lolThe only other negative was the ants we encountered daily. I know we are in the tropics, but despite many attempts to rid, we had tiny ants in the kitchen and master. I almost think they were coming through the screen? Overall, it was a very nice week

Amazing view!

Kim was an outstanding host and very knowledgeable about St John. She checked in on us and answered every question we had almost immediately. The house was great from top to bottom but the best part was the view. Only the bedrooms have a/c so the main house got a little stuffy in the afternoons/evenings since the bedrooms are only accessible from the outside downstairs. The road to the house is a nightmare, not gonna lie, but we got used to it after a couple of days. You definitely need an suv for ground clearance

Property has everything that you would expect and more. Very clean with beautiful views. My only suggestion would be to look at getting the wifi / television added to the solar panel power as the grid power to the property dropped off multiple times. This was a minor issue and very much elcipsed by how wonderful the stay was overall!

Amazing place & view

We loved this beautiful, sweet home. Kimberly was such a gracious host and readily helpful and available. The living space & kitchen were perfect. It had all the amenities that you would need for a comfortable stay. The pool, patio, and view were over the top! We loved hanging out on the patio in the morning sipping our coffee, watching the hummingbirds, and planning our day. In the evening, we would have drinks, look at the stars, and reminisce about our day.

A gem of sweet solitude

We stayed at Sailor's Cottage for a week of bliss snd chill time. The property managers were very responsive to our needs. The views are astounding. There is plenty to do in the area, but if you just need to kick back, this is a great place. The house is uber functional, there is air conditioning in the bedroom with king size bed and en suite. Second full bath is upstairs along with a full kitchen, TV, good Internet, soft breezes, and spectacular scenery. Perfect place for a couple who want to snuggle in and relax.

Tranquility with a view

I think we hit the jackpot with finding this house for our first trip to the island! Kim was helpful from the jump and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of! Everything is a quick drive away that you may need. The breeze with the windows open was so nice, fresh air all day. Can’t wait to return! ☀

Absolutely great

We had fantastic time at the property and are very glad we stayed with Kimberley. The property is as described and we had everything we needed. The kitchen and living are at the upper floor connected to the patio and the pool. The views from the upper floor are absolutely fabulous. One cannot get enough. We took dozen of pictures from the patio: sunrise, day, sunset and night views. The kitchen is well equipped, nothing was missing. There are also some basic “supplies” available: salt, spices, etc. It has a standard (large) fridge with freezer. The living room is very pleasant and cozy. We used the bbq regularly. Two bedrooms on the lower floor are equipped with AC, one is smallish, the other of generous size. We did not mind much since we did not spend much time there. You mostly live outside. Small garden around the house is nice. We very much appreciated that Kim provided us with beach chairs and coolers. There is a small grocery store at the foot of the hill on the way to the property. It looks shabby at first glance but learned to like it. In previous reviews guests mentioned the approach to the house. I dismissed them as “those city drivers”. I apologize guys, you were right, it is quite a rough, gravel and rock, drive. It is manageable, but one definitely needs an off-road car. Kim is a great host, she responded to our request promptly and was very helpful throughout the stay. Thanks a mil.

Peaceful island retreat

This house was exactly what we were hoping for. Tranquil atmosphere with an amazing view. Very clean and stocked with pretty much everything you'll need. Kim was a great host and very quick to respond to text messages. Highly recommended.

We loved our time at Sailors Cottage. As previous reviews attest, Kim is a great host. She (and her family) did everything they could to make sure we had what we needed. We are completely sold on the Coral Bay side of the island, and would, without a doubt, stay here again.

Stunning place and fantastic host!

My wife, daughter and I stayed at this beautiful property for a week, loving every second of it! Kim, the host, was fantastic - excellent with her communication, very responsive and helpful, ready to answer any of my questions and make suggestions for places to eat and things to do. The property was perfect - a stunning view, comfortable inside and out. We loved the pool, as a great spot to relax when we were at the house, and I loved having a cup of coffee next to it in the mornings before we started our day. The house had everything I needed for the occasions when I was making breakfast or dinner, and the living room was a great place to relax in the evening, too! We have been to the island 4 times now, staying in different places each time, and this was definitely the best! We were sad to leave, but eager to come back!

A great honeymoon getaway

The house was wonderful and Kim was so accommodating. She met us on the way and showed us how to get to the house then explained all her recommendations for things to do. Very easy to communicate with. We texted her throughout the trip for suggestions. Only thing to note is the hill to get the house is quite rough and rocky. Her note about needing a jeep is legit and took a confident driver to navigate the hill. The bedrooms do require you to go outside from the rest of the house. Not a make or break for us but thought it was worth noting. Overall I do highly recommend this place as it was perfect for our get away. Coral bay is so relaxing with fun places to go real close by.
