Little Moose Lodge (Tiny House) Mohawk River waterfront property
Our Moose Lodge is a four season rustic cabin (tiny house) located on our Mohawk River waterfront property. This cozy warm cabin was built using on site and local timber as well as reclaimed lumber. Includes full kitchen, full bath and loft with two full beds. First floor has a small couch that can be pulled out to accommodate more guests if needed. Smart TV sits above the large gas fireplace. Internet included as well as local channels. Well behaved pets allowed. Although most of the flooring is re purposed 1860's planking, some is from the historical Shoemaker Tavern known for its visit by George Washington during his tour of the Mohawk Valley in 1783. Bring your snowshoes or skis and by all means bring your snowmobile as we are located on the NY State trail system. During the summer months you can bring your canoe, kayak or fishing boat as we are right next to the beautiful Saint Johnsville Marina.
Our family of 4 stayed at Little Moose Lodge for one night and wished we had more time to explore! The bike trail, river access, historic sites and the charming town of St. Johnsonville were all very appealing. We enjoyed walking to a delicious breakfast at the Bridge Street Diner. And the tiny house itself was perfect for us. The loft steps are very steep, as mentioned, but the kids thought that just added to the adventure! They also loved seeing the cabooses on the property and hearing the trains go by. We would definitely stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, peaceful place to step away and unwind. Chris is the best kind of host; all needs are addressed promptly and efficiently, he is not intrusive in the least but always available, and has thought of everything at the cabin to make it an easy, effortless stay. The surroundings are peaceful: river, woodchucks, birds, and foxes lend themselves to an enchanting atmosphere but never come too close to bother. Passing trains and churchbells are a thing, but again, add to the unique charm of the place. Looking forward to next time. Oh, and the plane on the roof of the building is icing on the cake!
Cute. Small. Kitchen well-equipped, including Keureg with some pods provided for coffee & tea, sweetener & powdered cream (morning coffee info is important to me!). Near Empire State Trail, which was perfect because I was biking in and out from the trail. Host very accessible. Location appears rural, but there are active train tracks very nearby, so it can get noisy, but it settles a bit at night.
I was confused because in the listing it says sleeps 4, and in the photos the upstairs beds looked like twin size beds & the love seat appears to be in a different room than the full sized bed, so I thought there would be a bedroom downstairs, but there is not: upstairs beds are both full size. I did not check to see if love seat converts to a bed. Made no difference to me since I was traveling solo. I would stay here again solo. Would stay with one other person if I really loved them (it's small!).
Every provision you could think of is provided. The owner is very responsive to whatever you need. This is our third time staying in the different lodging available and is now our go to place when up that way. Itâs quiet and peaceful even with the lull of the occasional train in the background passing.
Just a nice relaxing place to just âbeâ.
Love coming here!
The cabin is adorable and clean! Quiet, well kept area. The owner was friendly and reached out to us prior to our stay. We are going to come back again and have recommended Little Moose to our friends and family. Wonderful experience!
Awesome place! Loved the concept of a little log cabin with restored RR cabooses together in a park along the river.
Great use of reclaimed materials in the floors, shower, and other places.
Hosts recommended a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant just down the road for dinner. Best bread for sandwich roles I've ever tasted!
To bad I won't be back this way again, but if I were, I'd definitely stay there again!
Weâve been stopping here each year on our way to an Adirondack hiking trip. This place has everything we need and we always enjoy our stay. Highly recommended.
The host was very helpful about removing potential allergens from the space before I arrived. I appreciated his care and consideration. The spot is at a beautiful location. Lots of open grassy space along a river. There is a train that goes by regularly however it didnât bother me.
We stayed at the little moose lodge in between a few days camping/hermiker mining and heading back home. It was great to have a cozy cabin, hot showers and a place to cook a meal (not over a camp stove).
Communication for check in and to reset wifi was all quick and easy. Thanks Chris!
Exactly what we needed and the property own was very kind and professional. He answered all my questions and was attentive when/if needed. The property was clean, and all supplies we needed were there. It was the 1st time in many years we were able to sit and relax. Thank you so much! We will see you next season we hope!
Our stay was so restful and peaceful. We were in the area to reconnect with cousins and this tiny house was the perfect place to return to at dayâs end. A great place for our dog too. We also appreciated Chris allowing us a late check out.
Everything was perfect at Little Moose Lodge. Our only slight issue were the steps to the loft. But it was definitely manageable. Communication with the owner was fantastic.
