The property descriptions and the actual property were not the same. It stated that we would have access to a hot tub, it was not available. There was a laundry area listed and it was out of order. Although Susan did offer to pick up our laundry, that made me a little nervous, so I spent a morning at a laundry mat. The additional pull out sofa could only be accessed if you moved a full size couch. We made the best of it and spent minimal time at the apartment. The owner was very prompt in returning messages. I was disappointed in the online pictures and the actual accommodations.

The location of this rental was nothing short of perfect. You can walk the alley to John Pass, or walk directly to the cross walk nearby to get to the beach access. We love fishing and was a short walk from a public lookout near the brackish water. We had our own carport to park under and there were so many amenities that Ms. Susan allowed us to use. From beach chairs, to floats, we had it all! The fenced in backyard made us feel comfortable letting our dogs out since we were so close to the main road, and there were so many beautiful plants! Ms. Susan was super accommodating and was able to give us a boat of knowledge when adventuring the area. She was just a text away and we really appreciate her friendly demeaner and hospitality.

Alice’s perfection
Our stay at Alice’s Beach Bungalows was absolutely perfect. Susan, our host was extremely welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The bungalow itself is situated in the perfect location with a private fenced yard making it that much more enjoyable. It is a 5 minute ( if that ) walk to the beach where we enjoyed our morning coffee while watching the dolphins play. Susan also had everything you could possibly need for the perfect beach experience. Beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, sand toys, a wagon and the list goes on. Johns pass and boardwalk is also just a short walk and so much fun! St. Pete’s beach and Madeira beach are also in close proximity. If you don’t want to drive there’s always the Island Hopper which is a transportation service run on tips/ donations. We were extremely thankful that Susan told us about this service and the drivers are professional and kind. We are already planning our trip for next year and can’t wait to see Susan again!

None of the pictures posted are accurate at all. Have been using VRBO for 25 years and never had this type of experience. I am elderly and use a cane, stairs are difficult. There are concrete stairs between living room and kitchen/bedroom area not disclosed. Pictures are NOT accurate at all. We were looking for a weeks stay in the sunshine BUT could not stay there. Railing missing at the front entry stairs. So ripped off, not even partial refund.

Do not waste your time and money!!
I had to reach out to property owner to get check-in instructions. She sent an email & text with the info the day of. -It was dark when we arrived & we had a hard time finding the house. -Once inside we were disappointed to find a few small stains on the bed sheets. The table in the kitchen hadn’t been wiped cleaned. The counter was dirty with crumbs & what looked to be a couple of burnt pieces of food. There was an old coffee spill on the counter that hadn’t been wiped up and a wet rag sitting on the shower floor. I messaged the owner at the time informing her I wasn’t pleased. I didn’t hear back right away so my children & I left the property. We found elsewhere to stay. I contacted VRBO the next morning bc I still hadn’t heard back and it had been over 12 hours. They attempted to call the property owner 3-way. She didn’t answer the call, but did end up texting me a couple minutes later asking me what was dirty. She said she was known to miss a few things. She sent me pictures of the house stating it was clean & bc I didn’t contact her to allow her to resolve the issue I wouldn’t get a refund. I had to remind her that she was replying to my original message from check in. I also pointed out to her that she left a dirty rag sitting on the counter in one of her photos & that she missed the coffee spill again when she wiped the counters prior to pictures. She told me it was the rag from the shower and refused any further contact directly.

host canceled 6PM night B4
I was cancelled by owner@ 6 two days prior to check-in. I rec;d email from vrbo. it had a broken link on automated info page, I was out sight seeing and didn't get back to it till evening before check in . I drove by the property to locate the place. When I got home; A new email said they cancelled because prior guest covid . . . blah blah blah we all know the dialog. and I concur the owner needs to take precaution. But --the owners email; offered no personal assistance to find me a place, to stay for the 3 scheduled days. which I find unprofessional / uncaring. I'm not sure if the disconnect is with the owner, vrbo, or covid. I know that I was left a drift.

Confirmed booking on April 2022 for February 2023. Property was unavailable due to being double booked. Susan said it's VRBO app. problem. VRBO says a host is responsible for there calendar. So vacation ruined. After hours on phone with many customer service agents. I was refunded after more than 10 days of calling. VRBO. First time I had a problem with VRBO and they do nothing for you nor did the host. She expected me to trust her to get refunded by cancellation. If a traveler cancels. They aren't eligible for a cancellation. I'm done with VRBO.
