I wish I could give four and a half stars. The front desk staff is excellent — friendly and helpful. We were prepared for the dated look of the hotel thanks to the accurate Expedia reviews. And we weren’t disappointed in the cleanliness of the property, which is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. The other big draws for us were free parking and complimentary breakfast. The parking was great; the breakfast — not so much. It’s not that it was bad — it just wasn’t very good At all. Some people complain about the lack of healthy items and I get it — Cereals, toast, waffles, muffins, croissants — only variation was ham and cheese cold cuts and a small basket of apples and bananas. Coffee, OJ, bread — all rather unappealing; in fact, on our second morning, we headed straight for a Dunkin's…. The other negatives were in the bathroom. I must emphasize the cleanliness was way above par. The toilet, however, was painfully low. Painfully. I can’t describe it in any other way without involving tmi. And the shower controls made it extremely difficult to control water temp for the duration of a shower. The bed was just OK; I found it to be borderline too hard, but the other members of my family were fine with their bed. The heating controls for the room were easy to understand and adjust so room temp was never a problem. Upon arrival we were given a “quiet” room and except for the ambulances headed to the nearby hospital, it was indeed quiet. All in all, a good experience.
