A bakery and the Remise restaurant are approximately 50 metres away.<br><br><br><br>The west wing was built as part of renovations that gave the Stolpe manor house its castle-like character, transforming it into Stolpe Castle. The originally rectangular manor house was expanded to include three towers at the initiative of Friedrich Count von Schwerin and his wife, Countess Freda. It was expanded toward the west. The extension, completed in 1905 and featuring a beautiful colonnade, housed guest rooms as well as servants’ quarters and cottages.Largely spared from the destruction of the war, the castle was not well-regarded by the new ruling elites after 1945 gesehen.So, the central section was completely demolished in 1949 to provide building materials for other structures. This created the gap between the castle and the west wing that still exists today. According to guidelines from the historic preservation office, reconnecting the castle and the west wing is not possible. In 2015, extensive renovation work on the now-isolated west wing was completed.The former guest rooms, apartments, and servants’ quarters have since been transformed into comfortable, modern, and lovingly and individually furnished vacation apartments. They bear historical names, some of which specifically refer to notable figures associated with the manor house.
