The Host - Robert was super in communicating this us. The house was super clean and we had plenty of room for everyone for our Christmas celebration. The weather was in the high 60's which made it great for everyone being outside at Christmas. Kitchen was stocked with the few items we forgot - Maple Syrup.
Great property!! Beautiful house!! We had an amazing stay, and more than happy with the amount of room we had for the price! I only have one thing( no way negative) but it would be nice to have lights on the way down to the lake and on the dock for the evenings or early morning. Thank you so much for sharing your home!!
Out son got married @ a venue nearby and our family stayed here for the week. The host has thought of everything for a large group! Well stocked kitchen, lots of extra towels and even toys for the kids! Thank you for making this such a pleasant and memorable stay for this special time in our family! I would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thanks for everything!
Probably the cleanest house we’ve ever rented. Beautifully decorated with an amazing view! The owners were quick to respond and resolve a small issue that was far outside their control. Definitely will stay again!
Awesome location and house. Appreciated the sidewalk to the lake.
I know it would be hard to do, but having a kitchen on the lower level would provide additional capability for a family to cook.
This house was a wonderful place to gather together in multiple small groups for a family visit. Spectacular view to the lake through the trees. The porches on multiple levels were well used, and the large dining room table helped. Small kitchen, but that's not uncommon w/ vacation homes. Lots of little extras that added to the experience (games, propane fire pit, kayaks, etc.) I suspect we'll be back one of these days!
The home is very clean and comfortable. Great home for families with young children.
Owners are very responsive and nice to deal with.
They have thought about everything their guests might need and the house is well stocked with necessities (towels, linens, pillows, cookware, etc).
The hill to access the water is steep and not easy for people with mobility issues but that was communicated when we booked. The pathway is definitely walkable and easy enough for anyone with no mobility issues.
We really enjoyed our stay!
The host was communicative in regards to directions. The house was decent, but it was outdated. The sheets especially were old and used up. If you are planning on renting a boat/pontoon and leave it at the dock, reconsider since the water level fluctuates a lot/fast and I don’t think it would be safe to park the boat there.
This house was perfect for us for this trip. Great location - about 15 minutes to Pickens, where there are grocery stores and a few restaurants. We enjoyed Coyote Coffee in Pickens for breakfast. There is a great hike in Keowee Toxaway State Park that is 5 minutes down the road. The house is very clean, and the beds are comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out when we wanted, but mostly enjoyed being together in the family room and the screened porch, which was very relaxing. Next time, we'd like to stay here in warmer weather so we can swim off the dock pier. We had planned to use the kayaks, but just didn't have enough time. I love that the house comes with kayaks and a paddle board. The owners were very nice and responsive. Great stay - hope to be back!
Nice property right on the lake if you can handle lots of steps down with no hand rail. That was our biggest challenge. The house was well stocked and was very quiet. The hosts were quick to respond to our requests. But when I called about a tv not working the host intimated it was my problem . Not cool and as it turns out the previous renter also had a problem .
The house is fairly far away from most things and pick up at the airport was a haul but I did know that in advance. I hadn't expected the back roads to be quite so narrow and winding. The kitchen is incredibly small. My friend has a tiny house with more counter space and there is almost no storage for dry goods except on the countertops. The screened porch was nice but we had a damp week and the smell of pooch pee was quite noticeable on those days. The paved path to the dock is quite steep and I wouldn't recommend it for a stroller or wagon. Getting into the water to swim is better off the docks where there is a boat slip. The property dock steps end several feet above the rip rap and aren't useful for entry while we were there. The abandoned boat ramp next to the property dock is also not a good entry since there is a very muddy bottom with quite a bit of tree debris to get through to swim. To be fair, the water was low while we were there. The hosts did address several issues we found and were responsive.
First off, this is a BEAUTIFUL property. The views are spectacular from the decks.
This was the first time that my large extended family came together in a location, where we all traveled and spent several days in the same house together. That being said... Everyone had a marvelous time.
Everything is provided for you, by the owners, who are very responsive to anything that you might have questions about. The house is beautifully outfitted with everything that you need. (Always bring extra toilet paper and paper towels) There are even kayaks provided, for those that want to venture out and ping pong if you prefer an indoor sport.
There is plenty of room to spread out.
The kids enjoyed having their "own" space to play and watch movies. There are tons of games.
Parks nearby for hiking, geocaching, and kids playground.
This is a terrific place and certainly worth staying again.
Thank you Robert!
We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed every inch of this property! Everything was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations. We loved how the bedrooms were separated from the living area allowing those who turned in early to not be disturbed. Kitchen was a little small, but fully stocked and workable. The outside areas were nicely appointed and we appreciated the screen in porch. The kiddos loved the bottom floor with the separate den as well as the ping pong table in the garage. The cove was perfect for floating and it was nice to have a short walk to the boat dock. Super close to Lake Jocassee as well if you are looking to lake hop as we do. Overall- excellent stay and we will be back! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!
This is a beautiful property with different areas that all can have some quiet if they want. Great outdoor sitting areas with 2 balconies. We had multigenerational, so we really appreciated that. The kids loved the ping pong table. Us Floridians got a work out with the steps but that's just us...weak quads! The views are magical by day and night. We cooked a bit and even used the crockpot. A new skillet would be good, but that's the only suggestion I have! Fantastic spot!! Thank you for a peaceful stay!!
Great house with all the amenities! So many thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable. We especially appreciated the toys and puzzles for the kids, and that they had their own little space to play. We loved the neighborhood and this section of the lake. It was perfect for our family getaway!
