Welcome to "A Seacret Hideout" and Holden Beach - this home, this beach, this vacation - let the tradition begin! 2nd Row, 6 Bedroom, 4.5 Baths, Great beach access and in the heart of it all! Your family will begin making those wonderful vacation memories as soon as you step inside this bright, open home. The first level has an open concept kitchen/dining/living area where all can gather for meals, movies, card playing and puzzling! A King and Queen bedroom are on this level as well as a convenient half bath. The second level has four more bedrooms and three baths for the rest of the gang. Two full length front porches are great for catching the ocean breeze and enjoying a a good book or a cool, evening beverage. Your daily commute to the beach is directly across the street - it doesn't get any more convenient. "A Seacret Hideout's" fantastic location is a short walk to the park, basketball courts, Sunday night concerts, restaurants, ice cream - and more!

Family Vacation

The house was the perfect size for our family of 14. The house needs some tender, loving care outside and a deep cleaning inside. A few of the bedspreads needed to washed. We would’ve enjoyed more porch chairs instead of just two plastic chairs on both porches. The upstairs porch plastic chair was cracked. We did have an air condition problem with the upstairs and a repair man came out as soon as possible, which was greatly appreciate it. It was a quick walk to the beach, which was nice. Having the outside hoses and shower was very helpful especially for the kids. Easy parking and having an elevator to all floors was very helpful for the coolers and luggage.

Family Get Away

The house was great and as described. The room and bed configuration was a bit complicated for our family, so part of the family rented another spot, but overall it was a great place to meet up, cook for our large group and hang out on the street various decks overlooking the ocean. The public beach access could not be closer! We walked directly across the street, over the small waking bridge and there was the beach!

Best Location, Great House for Large Family

Our extended family stayed here for a long weekend to attend a cousin's wedding in the area. We had 4 couples, 2 teens, and 2 infants under 1. The layout of the house was perfect for our group as every couple had their own room and the rooms were big enough to comfortably hold a pack n play for the babies. The bunk room was perfect for the teens and the cargo elevator made loading and unloading a breeze. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals comfortably. There are no tubs in the house which makes giving small kids a bath a challenge but we managed. The house is a 5 min walking distance of restaurants, Sunset Slush and the bridge. The house was very clean, but cosmetically could use a few updates. The exterior could do with a little sprucing and some sturdier porch furniture (there are only plastic Adirondack chairs), the back yard is quite large and could easily hold a nice sitting or entertainment area, and there were a few functional issues in the house that we brought to the attention of the Property Manager when a maintenance tech stopped by. Some of the light fixtures are kind of old and rusty, hot water didn't work in one bathroom, a vent cover was missing on the bottom floor entrance and a critter or small human could easily access the house uninvited and one of the bunk railings was loose. The recliner in the living room is also on its last leg but it is super comfy. We are a pretty easy going group and none of this was overly bothersome for us. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Great Service - House met our needs

Adding the exact review I gave to the management company so that the property owner is also informed. Your Comments The property VERY comfortable. What worked: very spacious, plenty of parking and lots of room. TV & streaming in family room and 2nd floor king worked as described. Kitchen appliances that we used all worked with out an issue. What could use some attention (not meant to be complaints - just observations): there is a great deal of cleaning expected of the guest yet the vent in the kitchen ceiling is filthy and should get some attention. Dead bug in powder room and we had to defrost the ice maker in the frig on arrival because it looked like a blizzard had hit it. Linens should include towels, and with only 1/4 roll of toilet paper in the powder room only upon arrival meant a bit of scrambling. Someone should also replace the several burnt out light bulbs throughout. The TV in first floor Q has no remote and cannot be turned on manually we found it unplugged from the back (although plugged into the wall). The second floor rear Q had a roku device that has never been activated so no TV or streaming could be viewed in that room. The first floor king and second floor front queen room no one complained about so I don't know. Someone should check and update the instructions for each TV/device since they are all different. There is a lose board on the front lower porch (right side facing door).

Great location but TLC needed!

The house was spacious and just a three minute walk to the beach and walking distance to great coffee shop/bike rental and restaurants. You could see the ocean from the kitchen and porches! The house itself needs some TLC but told property management so hopefully that will be addressed for next renters. They were great to work with!

Great Location

Great Location with beach access right across the street! Lots of room at this property to spread out for a big family to still have privacy. Convenient and great outdoor shower made clean up from the beach a breeze. Full transparency-the carpet could use a good cleaning but the furniture and beds were terrific!

Great Location..Very Dirty

Great location and I would have reviewed it as 4 stars, but it badly needs a deep clean. My family and I played..."guess that stain" on almost every surface except counter tops and showers. Kitchen is poorly stocked, but you can make do if you're not cooking a meal. Unfortunately, the porch chairs are quite short so you can't see over the porch banister. We had to stack several chairs so we could see over the banister and enjoy the ocean. Rocking chairs on the porch would be a great improvement as well as a deep clean. Also, elevator did not work, not necessary, but would have been nice.

Convenient location

Loved how close we were to grocery stores and other shops because our rental was so close to the bridge off the island. Large bedrooms and space under the unit was great for parking and outdoor shower. Beach was great!

Great Vacation

This house was a nice house.Loved the location.We found a big bug on the floor when we first arrived but never saw anymore all week.There was plent of room for our group of 10 adults and 2 small kids.It was a quick walk to the beach everyday which is important woth lottle ones!There was a recall on the elevator whole we were there after the first few days and a guy pit a sogn on it not to ise but that was ok.They couldn’t help that!It was a great week!

Great Location, poor house cleaning!!

The home is spacious and is literally across the street from beach access. Can't get closer than that without being ocean front. However, we were dissatisfied with ProactiveVacation's customer service. It was stressed to us we could not check in early the day of due to "extra cleaning and maintenance due to COVID"; COVID was the least of our worries! Dead roach on the kitchen floor upon arrival, sand and crumbs on chairs, dirty kitchen table, and more! We killed spiders and roaches inside daily. After calling to report this and other damages to the home upon arrival, we were never returned a call. Horrible customer service! After 10 years of vacationing at Holden Beach, they have been the most disappointing to deal with. It's a pity, truly the home met our every needs as far as comfort and location.
