Peaceful Little Blue Cabin

Beautiful property with a quiet, relaxing deck area. The outdoor space is lovely and peaceful. However, the ceiling fan and windows could use a good cleaning, and the cabin itself is in need of some updating to bring it up to its full potential. I was also told it was a queen bed when if fact it is only a full size bed.

Relaxing getaway cabin

This property is always my favorite little cabin on the lake. Beautiful views and sunsets from the front deck hottub. Easy access to the lake. Small place with no frills; perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Caustic hot tub & property owner

We chose this cabin for the hot tub. Water level so low, it wasn't filtering. Smelled like it could strip paint. Used test strips under sink. Chlorine off the chart 10+ and more importantly, PH < 6.2 so HIGHLY ACIDIC. Hair in shower & overall dust & spiders, but no big deal. But the most disturbing issue was the owner's response or lack thereof re: hot tub. Once we got home, I had to involve VRBO to get owner to respond. He said "Yes, I saw your messages. We intentionally leave the chlorine level high just like any public or hotel pool/hot tub to make sure it's disinfected. It's hard to keep water levels constant between guests. Sorry if you didn't feel comfortable using it. I hope you were still able to enjoy your stay." I responded that it was mindboggling that I had to tell him that public hot tubs don't have immeasurably high chlorine & he should at least use the PH UP so that the acidity wasn't dangerously high. He said "Levels get low in the hot tub sometimes. I don't go there everyday to make sure levels and chemicals are perfect. You're not getting a refund due to a slight chemical imbalance in the hot tub. I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy the lake or natural beauty around you."

Wonderful deck with view of lake. Jacuzzi was also super nice after a long day of hiking. Bed was barely big enough for two adults. Easy chair was funky and clunky. Couch not real comfortable to sit on. Overall, nice place but a bit too old and used for my taste.

Had a great time

The property location is excellent. Really enjoyed early morning paddles. My only complaint is that there is no WiFi. Yes this is stated in the renters agreement, but sure would have been nice to have. I also found the bed uncomfortable, but that's just an opinion! I would rent again.

Amazing little cabin right on Lake Almanor’s shore. Perfect for two people. The two person spa is fantastic after a day of hiking at Lassen. Owner responds quickly with any questions I had.

Quaint Lakeside Cabin

Cute, cozy, romantic spot for two. Exactly what we needed for a restful getaway. Porch BBQ was very useful, and we enjoyed the VHS collection! Agree with other comments about bringing your own towels and garbage bags. The Little Blue Cabin is on our list of places to return to.

A little dusty

Overall I’d say our stay wasn’t bad, however there were cobwebs in all the windows, the blinds had so much dust on them and dead fly on the windowsill, also crumbs in the kitchen on the pull out cutting board. For cleaning fee that I was charged which was a lot I’d expect it to be cleaner. There was no hot water, our showers were warm at best and the shower head is so old the water pressure was so strong it was painful. Coffee maker is so old that it doesn’t keep the coffee hot. Also would have been nice to have a fan in the bedroom since there is no AC in the unit. A few upgrades and a little cleaning this place would be perfect.

Perfect Get Away for Two

This was the perfect cabin and location for us. We were able to walk out our door and go out for an early morning paddle on our kayaks. We explore trails on our mountain bikes and came home to our comfortable cabin and relaxed on the deck with a beautiful view of the lake. We can’t wait to return to the little blue cabin in the woods! Though there is not a stove, the crock pot came in very handy while we spent the day enjoying the area. Do bring extra paper towels, TP and garbage bags! ;-)

It was the slice of peace I so needed!

I was enchanted by the quiet and the constant changes of wildlife, colors and options! It was a perfect place to easily launch my kayak, hike Lassen or sit in the porch and enjoy a glass of wine. Perfectly situated, clean and comfortable...already looking in my calendar to book a return escape!!
