Driftwood Cabin, Talking Rock, GA A Beautiful A frame cabin that sleeps two for a nice and quiet get-away, gorgeous riverfront setting, hot tub, gas log fireplace, rocking chair front porch, fire pit and all the modern conveniences. Completely remodeled inside and out! As you walk into this traditional A frame cabin you are first greeted with the warm feeling of the North Georgia Mountains. The great room features a gas log fireplace with a 65â TV above them, two recliner chairs and a reclining love seat. There are books, board games and cards provided. There is a fully furnished kitchen, with modern appliances, laundry, a separate beverage cooler and a beautiful pine dining table. Completing the main level is the bathroom with a large walk-in tile shower with an overhead rain faucet. Up the spiral staircase is the loft with a king size bed overlooking the cozy living room below. Outside is where Driftwood really picks up its character. The covered front porch has two rockers with a beautiful river view and the rock cliff across the water which echoes the sound of the rustling water. The large deck wraps around to the side and has a table and chairs, lounge chairs and a large umbrella. Around the back of the house is the full-size hot tub under a pergola. In the yard is a stone fire pit with Adirondack chairs. There is plenty to do right out your door. Take your tubes up the driveway and down the road a very short distance (you can certainly walk if you like) to the river put in. We call it a two-beer float back to the cabin, about 20 minutes depending on the water level. There is good fishing and a deep swimming hole just downstream from Driftwood. For an all-day adventure you can kayak or canoe from the cabin to Carters Lake. That is a full day; plan on 7 â 8 hours to make it. If you would rather stay dry, a couple of miles away are some terrific mountain biking and hiking trails at the Talking Rock Nature Center. Driftwood is close to Amicalola and Ft Mountain State Parks, the charming mountain towns of Talking Rock, Jasper, Ellijay, Blue Ridge and Dahlonega, and lots of awesome wineries. Easy access off the four-lane highway with no steep hills in the way. A short drive from Atlanta but a million miles from the busy city.
