This holiday property is a well-appointed, rural semi-detached property, with its own heated swimming pool, secluded gardens and has full facilities for people with restricted mobility (except a hoist) plus induction loop, and lies in the peaceful Vale of Taunton Deane.. Ground Floor:

Garden with patio and garden furniture. Summerhouse. Barbecue. Outdoor heated swimming pool (9.7m x 4.8m), open 1st May-30th September. Hot tub for 6 (private). No smoking. Wheelchair access. Please note: Sorry, no hen or stag parties.. Linnets is a rather special property in the heart of rural Somerset. It is a large, three-bedroom semi-detached house with a modern Swedish hot tub that seats 6, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, set in a very pretty garden. Linnets is fully wheelchair accessible and has the following National Accessibility Scheme ratings: Assisted Wheelchair Access, Visual level 1, Hearing level 2. Downstairs there is a spacious wet room with grabs rails and shower chair. The kitchen also has some low-level worktops, and the living room is fitted with a hearing loop.

The pretty village of Fitzhead is a wonderful base to explore the stunning local area. There is an abundance of attractions including, The West Somerset Steam Railway at Bishops Lydeard, The Museum of Somerset in Taunton, Dunster, Minehead, the stunning Exmoor National Park, numerous National Trust properties including Dunster Castle, Fyne Court, Coleridge Cottage, Montacute and Knightshayes and there is also Tropiquaria, Diggerland, Butlins and Funland. There are two great country pubs within approximately 2 miles, or if you fancy staying by the pool and hot tub there is a large barbecue, The pretty village of Milverton 2 miles and the town of Wiveliscombe 3œ miles has shops, post offices, restaurants, pubs, and banking facilities. Shop 3 miles and pub 2 miles.

We stayed as a group of friends. Owners were helpful and very welcoming, providing us with some lovely provisions on arrival. It is a little bit out the way, but perfect for a relaxing break. You would definitely need transport for getting about. The cottage was a good size for 7 of us and the Hot tub was just the thing after a day out exploring.

Booked Linnets for a friend’s 50th birthday surprise weekend, 7 ladies in all.

Booked Linnets for a friend’s 50th birthday surprise weekend, 7 ladies in all. We had the best weekend, everything was just simply fabulous. There are plenty of beds and the cottage is very spacious. We made use of the hot tub and the pool and sat around the chimnea in the evening. It’s set in lovely countryside and Pat and her family went out of their way to make us feel welcome - Pat even brought a bottle of wine round for our newly 50 year old friend ? We would have no hesitation in recommending Linnets and will definitely be going back, we now want to make it an annual trip. Thanks for everything Pat xxx

We had an amazing time at Linnets.

We had an amazing time at Linnets. David and Pat were so welcoming, it felt like we’d known them for years! A lovely hamper of groceries was much appreciated when we arrived too. The house and gardens were beautiful and the pool and hot tub were used all day nearly everyday. There’s a lovely walk around the village and local area and the next town/village have lots of shops for most of your needs. We will definitely be booking again.

A great holiday, Linnets is a wonderful place that has we needed for a great holiday, whether relaxing in the hot hub or dicovering the local tourist places, pubs and parks. The owners were attentive but not at all intrusive and even started our holiday off marvellously with a scrummy lemon drizzle cake! This house and its amenities are ideal especially families who have a child with special needs, as we do.
