This is probably one of the worst hotels that we have ever stayed at. It would be one thing if it was cheap and a bargain, and we kind of expected basic...but our room cost nearly $300 for the night and was dirtier than anything we've ever encountered before. The couch had large, disgusting looking stains on it, the carpet was literally patched with duct tape, and close inspection of the bathroom revealed hair in the drain and on the floor--meaning it was barely cleaned. Everything was quite worn--which wouldn't bother us too much if it was clean, but it all felt very dingy and just gross and worse than a college dorm. I wish I had gotten a photo of the couch but I do have a photo of the floor. The air conditioner also didn't work well, so we were hot and uncomfortable. We did let reception know about this when we left. There was never anyone at Reception, so you have to call and wait--and sometimes we had to call repeatedly. Needless to say, we will never be back.

I booked a basic room with shared bathroom given it was a quick overnight on a drive to Wellington. Nothing wrong at all....it is what it said on the tin, a basic room. However, no aircon or coffee/tea facilities which was described in the promo material. But overall, it did the job.
