The beaches in this region are quite simply stunning, golden and, with 7km of pristine sandy shoreline to choose from, which never gets overcrowded.The beach in Tavira is a blue flag beach, separated from the mainland by the sea and has to be reached by a ferry boat or water taxi.It is certainly worth doing as the island is beautiful- it feels like being on your own tropical island! The ferry boat can be boarded from the river side in town and takes about 10-15 minutes.

The Santa Maria condominium has both a full size and a childrens pool with lawns with trees providing privacy.. There is also leisure centre next door to the condominium which has an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gardens and a children's playpark.
