Thank you so much for a serene, "me time" week-long holiday. Hosts, were attentive, welcoming and respectful, thank you Amanda & Les. Situated in the middle of know where, but well worth the drive. Amongst the natural beauty of the forest and as though a welcoming committee of south African animal sculptures was certainly a conversation among my whanau. The accommodation certainly exceeded my expectations. Warm, clean, spacious and all the utilities necessary to enjoy a wonder stay.
Enjoyed meeting other holiday makers too. I loved my stay, thank you!
Ngaa mihi ki a koutou!
Very nice place. The 34 acres of garden tended with love. Glad I went early and had time to wander around. Hospitable owners - Les and Amanda! Will be my first choice in the area, if / when I come back here
A lovely rural oasis with 36 acres of indigenous forest (in an area that has been thoroughly cleared). Beautiful gardens with animal sculptures. We just passed through on a rainy day but loved chilling there. Owners are super nice. Highly recommend
Absolutely lovely hosts. Amanda and Les are so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful gardens to explore. Lovely confortable bed.
I would happily stay again. I really enjoyed the hiking around Taranaki and do intend to return. I wanted a quiet solo trip and Te Popo Gardens did not dissapoint.
We had a wonderful stay at Te Popo, and our hosts Amanda and Les went out of their way to ensure our weekend was a success. Our unit was spacious and spotless, and the bed very comfortable.
Warm welcome from friendly and relaxed hosts. Our studio was the Elephant room - spacious but quite dark. The surrounding gardens fascinating with all the life size African animal sculptures with interesting info boards on each one. Breakfast basket supplied - even had gluten free choice and we were offered dinner which was a lovely traditional South African dish.
Was nice and cosy, owners were very nice and helpful, gardens and forest was huge beautiful to walk through with life sized animals hidden in the over growth, nice and quiet and peaceful,
