Lovely stay

The room was clean and well stocked, beautifully decorated and comfortable. However, it was very small. We had a bath in the bathroom which was lovely and the bathroom itself was sufficiently spacious.

The location in Thirsk was good for exploring Herriot life. Proprietors were helpful and very kind. The sink was very plugged. You have to carry suitcases up many stairs, depending on your floor

Rooms were small but very well furnished and good value for money, very clean and the bed was comfy. Hotel is in a great location, especially for the races. Staff were very friendly. There was no receptionist on our arrival, a note advised us to see the bar staff, but they were extremely busy, so this wasn't ideal.

Getting a room for 3 is not always easy. We had two lovely rooms for 3 which my grandson loved as he didn’t have to share with his sister and Nana! Modern bathroom with walk in shower with good quality toiletries.

Always stay here when visiting family . On checking in would have been nice to have someone offer take suitcase to room as up a lot of stairs to first floor then another winding staircase to room ! Great stay here

We stayed here during a trip to Thirsk for our friend’s wedding and it was brilliant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we had everything we needed. It’s located right in the town square so the location was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others!

Way to expensive - not worth the money!

Way too expensive for a tiny room! Worth max £90. Tried to book direct with hotel didn’t offer any discount. Reception very matter of fact and un-friendly. However hotels.com did us a better deal. Had to eat out as hotel prices way too expensive. Breakfast for 2 £35 ! Much better rooms and deals at Hotel du vin chains. Also super friendly there! Our birthday break spoiled by Noisy Neighbour, room next door all night! Then disturbing again from 05.00hrs till we left! Thirsk really busy town. Great Chinese called Magic Wok, lovely food.
