We were not made aware that we were the only guests in the hotel and no staff after 9PM. I found the bed and pillow uncomfortable and only slept a few hours to wake up with a sore back. We were in room 8 at the end of the hallway and had no wifi reception but it did work in the lobby. The staff was welcoming and told us we could phone if there was any problems as they live nearby. The hotel is located in the country 15 minutes away from Cabourg and very quiet.

NEAREST TO BATES MOTEL
1. The booking was maipulated and we were not given the breakfast paid for as part of the inclusive rate. The hotel would not honour this payment & we had to pay extra for poor quality cold breakfast. 2. The listing is totally misleading, containing misinformation & misrepresentation. The description is totally misleading. 3. Building work was going on and the hotel should not have been occupied by guests. 4. It is a virtual hotel. There are NO staff, NO facilities and NO other guests. There is no bar and no lounge. There are no evening meals because there are no staff. 5. It is a 20 km round trip to get food/decent meal any where else. 6. The hotel is extremely isolated and not a two star. 7. The back of the hotel is total sea of mud, an abandoned building site. no milk in the room. 8. The bathroom extractor fan did not work. 9. The radiator became musical when it was turned on, so noisy, it had to turned off and we were cold. Reported, but no action. 10. There were 45 channels on the television, all in French. 11. We felt totally vulnerable, insecure, unsafe and at risk being left completely alone every night. THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY POOR EXPERIENCE AND WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. THE MANAGER WAS VERY UNCOMPROMISING AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE BREAKFAST UNLESS WE PAID EXTRA. EXPEDIA WERE UNABLE TO SORT THIS OUT ON THE PHONE. WE WILL STAY HERE EVER AGAIN.
