For those unfamiliar with Northstar California Resort, it best describes itself as:

"Northstar California Resort, quietly hidden among the trees in the majestic Martis Valley in North Lake Tahoe, welcomes those looking to enjoy the luxury of relaxed California comfort year-round. At Northstar, guests discover a one-of-a-kind winter oasis complete with freshly groomed slopes, an average annual snowfall of more than 350 inches, fireside hot cocoas, and expansive mountainscapes. Explore impeccable groomed runs on Mt. Pluto, an extinct volcano that last erupted more than two million years ago. Now it is the perfect place for exploratory cruising with its moderate pitch, sweeping views of Lake Tahoe off East Ridge trail, and wide-open runs. Northstar’s diverse terrain and 100 trails allow families the chance to curate an on-mountain adventure everyone will love. With more than 3,000 acres, guests can progress together in family learning zones, explore over 400 acres of advanced terrain on Lookout Mountain, or test their legs on Logger’s Loop – the longest run at Northstar which extends 1.4 miles. The truly adventurous among the bunch can ride bumps and glades on mile-long runs on The Backside."

No Pets Allowed

Pet Policy
Pets are allowed only at properties that indicate Pets Considered in the amenities tab. If you are planning to bring your pet, please conduct your search specifically for a home that is pet-friendly. Prior written approval is required, and a pet fee applies. Please call our office to inquire about your pet, as homes may have varying policies.

County Rules
Each county requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below, also included in your signed in the Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.
Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week, Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.

Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the Ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.

Red Flag Warnings: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.

Winter Driving
Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the CHP here: https://bit.ly/3IKiY7n

Summer Patio Furniture
Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.

Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.

Office Holiday Hours
The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.
