Wow, best stay ever!
This place was AMAZING! The property and views were incredible, located across the street from a fun cenote, and the hospitality was the best I’ve experienced in all my travels. I highly recommend staying here, it is such a treasure and wonderful value for what you get! The host was such a huge help organizing excursions and checking us in which made the trip seem less and smooth.

Relaxing and peaceful.
We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Cenote! The room was very private including a balcony with lounge chairs which allowed us to watch the stars and the eclipse...this was magical!! The food at the restaurant on site was excellent, with ocean views and sounds. Beds were very comfortable, AC worked well and water and coffee was included. We found the Sunday beach barbecue with band very enjoyable. Our hosts Gary & Teysha were very helpful and gracious. We will return. Thank you

Nice spot to enjoy Tulum without the traffic.
We have been going to Tulum and akumal for a lot of years, but took the last 5+ off to visit other destinations. Coming back, we really appreciated that Casa Cenote sits about 10km outside of the primary strip in Tulum for easy access without the day in and day out craziness of super heavy traffic in both Tulum and akumal over holiday weeks. Casa Cenote sits right next to a great Cenote that is really busy, but cool. The restaurant is really good and affordable. The breakfasts are free in the room cost. It can be really slow when the Cenote crowds come over. The rooms have great views and the suites have really nice big decks. Our only complaints would be ... the rooms are pretty dated. It is always a hassle to open windows, doors, closets, etc. The sheets feel like they are 20 years old, etc. Also, no housekeeping unless you ask specifically for something. Overall, good value for the price and we had a good time.

Perfect Paradais with one big exception
The location is off the beaten path and a bit of a drive to Tulum, but that was fine by me. We had #2, which is a loft overlooking the ocean. It has a very comfortable king bed downstairs and a queen (or double?) in the loft. The bathroom is very nicely done and is supplied with soaps and shampoos. There's also a little island with a sink, fridge, and Kuerig. It's all really quite nice. However, when I checked in the room, there was a really strong smell. We aired out the place and that helped, but once we closed up the room for the night, the smell returned and it was clear it was a sewage smell coming up drains in the floor, the bathtub drain, and any opening to the drainpipes. I spoke to the owner, George, who apparently has run the place for decades. I addressed the problem with him after our first night. He said he couldn't move us and said they've never had such a problem, which made we quite skeptical. By late morning, the place was thoroughly cleaned and George said he did something structural to fix the problem. The smell was better until nighttime, when it started to return. So, I have to give him credit for trying, but I'm not sure what will fix the problem. The cenote across the road is really nice, but it is not connected to the hotel. However, the owner of the on-site dive shop will lend you snorkel gear for free. He's super nice. He does dive and snorkel trips out to the reef. The water wasn't calm enough for us to go during our stay. Finally, I'll say the restaurant is ok. You can get a decent free breakfast and the waitstaff are friendly and the food comes quickly. We chose not to eat dinner there. Oscar and Lalo's place nearby is pricey, but amazing. So, if there was no insidious stench, I would highly recommend this place. As is, I would be worried about going back. Since I don't think others have mentioned this problem in reviews, maybe it's a temporary problem.

Beautiful rooms, fantastic people and service, awesome food!!!
We loved our stay at Casa Cenote! The rooms were clean, plenty of towels and beach towels each day, and the view off our balcony was breathtaking. The staff was warm, knowledgable, and very helpful with recommendations to see on the surrounding area. The food was amazing, especially the ceviche, and they even remembered we liked pineapple added to ours after the first time we ordered it. The Casa Cenote Margarita is THE BEST and a must have! Fresh juice and fabulous!
