3 nights, No phone in the room, sink did not drain,no housekeeping service. When service finally did happen, left dirty cups on table, did not replace coffee or used cups. Desk help on their cell phones every time we went to the front desk. Had speak to them to get them to pay attention. This a MARRIOTT, not a Roadway.

The property is being remodeled which wasn’t disclosed until our arrival. Our a/c unit leaked so badly that the carpet was soaked. We have liked this property in the past. Can only hope that the remodel will be done soon.

The area the property was located in is very convenient to everything from restaurants to nightlife. It was also close to the University of Alabama and I-20. I booked my room through a 3rd party although I am a marriott rewards member. I was told that my stay wouldn't count towards earning points for the rewards program. I was also denied early check-in although I was told by the young lady at the front desk that I could check-in early. She was nice about it. So I wasn't mad. She may be friendly but upon arriving at the hotel to check-in the professionalism and customer service was lacking. Apparently something happened before we arrived because staff from housekeeping was at the front desk and they were having a conversation. The front desk clerk who checked us in was trying to talk low because guests were standing there waiting to check-in. The female cleaning staff made a statement and rolled her eyes as if whatever happened upset her. It was hard to ignore her because she boldly stated in front of us that this is why a general manager need to be here. I can't say that I was surprised, but it was unprofessional. If you are going to have this type of conversation, please do it when no one is standing there to be checked in or occupying the lobby area. When we were finally checked in, as soon as we entered the room it smelt like mildew. Like the carpet was wet. Shout out to the lady who prepared and put out breakfast. She was nice and professional. I will not return.

I have never stayed in a Farfield Inn by Marriot like the one I stayed in. The door to the room had a gap in it! It was not tightly closed! The bed had crumbs in it! The bathtub looked like pigs had played in it! Only one elevator in the building! The smell in the hotel was very unpleasant! I should have been given my money back! I will never stay at the Hotel never at 4101!!

What this property lacks in amenities, it more than makes up for in customer service. My dauggter and I stayed here while she her orientation at the U of Alabama. I can't even detail how above and beyond this staff went to make our stay feel like we were with family. I believe the manager is Luke and I don't even want to gove specifics about some of the ways he helped our stay.....(if you read this..think bedding for my daughter). Over the next 4 years, this will be my go to hotel while my daughter is in college. Super close to campus, stores, food, beer, everything.

What a disaster

Hotel was overbooked but they did get me a reservation at another hotel, with great effort. Tried to call them when I was first notified but the answering machine hung up on me about a dozen times. When I arrived about six hours later, only then, when they tried to call another hotel, that they discovered their phones weren’t working - SIX HOURS. They finally got a hold of someone who told me to go to the hotel next door. I got to that hotel and the front desk clerk was not informed but she did figure out the problem and got us situated. The staff at the Fairfield was totally incompetent.

I loved this stay! The staff was so kind and made the check in/out process so fast and easy. The rooms were excellent and clean. The weather was extremely hot but you couldn’t even tell in the rooms because the amenities worked so well. I loved this property and would stay here every time I traveled to the area.
