The Kind of Place This Is:
Quiet. Private.
This is a place to slow down — not a place to get loud. No parties, no gatherings beyond your booked guest count, no exceptions. It is a peaceful property, and we keep it that way for every guest.
It works beautifully as:
— A private retreat for writers, artists, or anyone who needs to disappear for a few days
— A couples' getaway or anniversary escape
— A small family stay in a home with real character and room to breathe
— A creative or professional offsite — the silence and space here are rare
— A wedding or elopement setting (intimate ceremonies by prior arrangement only — contact us)
What it is not: a party venue. Not a group house. Not a loud weekend. The desert here is still and we intend to keep it that way.
The Area:
Twentynine Palms is having a quiet renaissance. The LA Times called out the town's new creative energy in early 2025 — independent bookstores, craft beverage bars, a gastropub, a brewery, and a community that draws writers, painters, and people who came during the pandemic and never left.
And then there's the national park — less crowded than the Joshua Tree entrance most visitors use, with its own visitor center that opened in 2023. Twenty minutes to downtown Joshua Tree. Two hours from Los Angeles.
Close enough to escape. Far enough to actually disappear.
Walls were removed to open the sightlines. Ceilings were uncovered to reveal original beams. Two fireplaces anchor the space. A 900-square-foot primary bedroom catches the morning light through original casement windows. Two other large guest rooms each have a mountain view. The olive grove and producing fruit orchard stretch across the property.
Outside, the desert does the rest.
