Want some peace and quiet? Want to hike for miles without seeing anyone? This property, called the 'Lazy Easy', is on 160 acres in the middle of wild Nebraska. This place is owned by Audubon of Kansas (AOK), an environmental non-profit dedicated to preserving wildlife in the Great Plains. Relax on the front porch watching birds feed at the feeder, hike around the property enjoying wildflowers and native insects, or take a drive to visit the Niobrara River.
The house can fit an extended family, but that doesn't mean you have to invite them!
Furnishings are modest, and the house has a 1970s vibe. However, everything has been kept clean and functional. The beds were recently updated with eco-friendly Brentwood Home mattresses made of organic, naturally renewable resources. House includes laundry facilities and whole-house heating. Air conditioning restricted to window air conditioners in two bedrooms and the common area.
Earnings from this house support the environmental conservation work of AOK.
NOTE: There is NO wifi and NO cell service from the major carriers. Only Viaero cell service has coverage in the area, and that can be spotty.
NOTE: While we make every effort to prevent insects and mice from entering the home, the age of the house and the abundant natural habitat surrounding the house makes it difficult. However, we do NOT use rat poison, so there is no fear that your pet will be exposed.
