You'll start by admiring the medieval ramparts, among the best preserved in Brittany, which offer a charming walk along the Garenne, a path dotted with gardens and pretty washhouses. After discovering the port, with its tree-lined quays including the Quai de la Rabine, take the 17th-century Porte Saint-Vincent, built to link the port and the historic district: you enter the old town via a street lined with old buildings, townhouses and timber-framed houses. Walk up to the Place des Lices, where the 1912 halles (covered market) await you.
