Cosy seaside, rural heritage cottage

Pipers Cottage is a renovated, cosy, 400 year old stone, semi-detatched cottage, located by the sea overlooking Ventry harbour, about 3 miles west of Dingle, off the Wild Atlantic Way. It boasts underfloor heating and all modern conveniences but in the preserved original cottage.
Pipers Cottage has significant heritage value as it was part to the estate of the family of James Goodman who, although being a church of Ireland minister, was the first professor of Irish language at Trinity University. Being a noted Uileann piper (Irish pipes) and having great love of the local music James learned, wrote has preserved more than 2000 manuscripts of music and song in the mid1800s, when anglicisation was destroying the Irish language, music, dance and culture.
The cottage has been lovingly preserved in honour of James Goodman and has been used to record tradituional music radio broadcasts and CD recording of trad music.

This property deserves more than 5 stars! It is a destination, for sure. It is *very* well appointed with high quality *everything*. Clearly, it was recently renovated (gutted in fact, and entirely re-built) and no cost was spared. We appreciated having access to laundry on our 12-day Ireland trip. Our host, Mike was very attentive to our needs, going so far as to purchase gluten-free breakfast foods for us on arrival. We really appreciated having that to wake up to! The property location is postcard beautiful. It is only 3kms from Dingle centre and very easy to get to (i.e., turn left off main road and the property is at the end of the laneway). We look forward to a return trip!

Dingle Dream Cottage
During several weeks of travel and many fine accommodations, this beautiful cottage was our favorite stop. It is an historic structure with modern amenities including: all new appliances, radiant heated floors, wifi, and a well stocked starter pantry and kitchen area. The owners continue to keep this place charming, spotless, and friendly. They made us feel welcome and comfortable for the entire stay. The ocean view from the open yard is spectacular and private, with well kept flower gardens to complete the scene. Although the cottage is only 5-10 minutes from Dingle (closer still to Ventry), its somewhat secluded location makes having a car a great convenience, but not an absolute necessity. I know we will remember our time spent here as one of the overall highlights of a wonderful vacation.
