The house was in good condition and well situated, with easy access to Victoria. However, we were a bit taken aback by a few things during our stay. First, the neighbor came to the door unexpectedly to discuss when we would be away from home and see about coordinating a schedule for her to catch up on some gardening around the house and property. While that's not unreasonable, it would have been more professional for the host to have arranged with us directly than to have strangers showing up at the door.
Unfortunately, during our stay, the city construction crew tore up the sidewalks all around the street and had construction crews and heavy equipment that started working at 6AM and went all day long with oppressively loud activity. After enduring this for most of the week we were there, we finally gave up and relocated to a different place to finish our vacation in peace. We contacted the host to at least have a conversation on this topic (although it obviously wasn't their fault), but they didn't even respond. Their lack of communication left a poor taste in our mouths even though the property was quite decent overall.
