Great hotel for the weekend

Clean, comfortable room, good breakfast, good location with good transport links nearby, the toilet/bathroom was not actually cleaned thoroughly during the time we were staying there - that was the only minus point I can make.

Property was clean with friendly staff, near the u-bahn in what appeared to be an art deco or bauhaus building. The room was a good size, though with no view to speak of. The shower art was A Lotā„¢ļø but honestly that sort of added to the charm. Staff were kind and seemed accepting (we are a queer polycule).

Hotel does not clean our room everyday. The day they choose to clean it (at their own discretion), it is always half done. Our bathroom supplies are never replenished. When complaining to the front desk, they always give you the same standard answer, ā€œ The housekeeper has gone home, I cannot do anything.ā€ *****Thank you Marriott, you have just successfully turned away a long time royal customer.*******

We decided to stay at this hotel as it was walking distance to the Schonbrunn Palace however we were unable to get in to see the palace in it's entirety as we did not book in advance and the crowds were intense. The hotel was across from the underground train station so easy access to Vienna (about 15 minutes). That being said, the area around the hotel was dirty and didn't feel particularly safe although it probably was. It certainly didn't feel like we were in Vienna but rather a run down part of any city. The hotel itself had good amenities. Our room was well equipped with a fridge, kettle, instant coffee, tea, iron, ironing board and was suitably large with comfy beds that had no perfumey smell. That being said the room was pretty dirty. The base of the toilet had yellow stains on it and the bathroom walls had stains of a different nature! The cabinets and fridge had drips of dried liquid and finger prints as did the light switches. There was a balloon under my bed and bits of debris. Thank goodness for Lysol wipes. We couldn't have stayed here if I was unable to clean up. We definitely wouldn't stay again. We would pay more to stay closer to Vienna to have a more Vienese experience and a cleaner hotel. Not satisfactory.
