Villa Somoya is one of Virgin Gordaâs most luxurious villas. Construction of this 4,500-square-foot home was completed in August 2014 and updated in 2019.
This 3-bedroom / 3-bathroom home sits on a hilltop ridge and features spectacular views. From the homeâs elevated setting guests can see up to 19 U.S. and British Virgin Islands in a stunning panorama of blue seas and rock formations.
Thoughtfully designed to coexist with Virgin Gordaâs natural setting, Villa Somoya is nestled among giant granite boulders that reveal the islandâs volcanic origins. The propertyâs indigenous trees and rock formations have been preserved and further enhanced with landscaped gardens. The villaâs setting makes it hard to tell where nature ends and Villa Somoya begins.
Centrally located in a private and exclusive residential area, Villa Somoya is a 5-minute drive from a dozen restaurants, a half-dozen grocery stores, and the islandâs best beaches including Little Trunk Bay, Spring Bay, and The Baths. The location is ideal!
DESCRIPTION
Villa Somoya is made up of two buildings surrounded by expansive outdoor decks and covered terraces. The use of exotic woods and the inclusion of high-end fixtures and appliances give this home a sophisticated and upscale vibe. The villaâs furnishings are the perfect blend of classic design with Caribbean accents.
Several spectacular design features make Villa Somoya a great home for gathering with family and friends. The villaâs well-equipped and modern kitchen features a large breakfast bar that opens to a covered terrace. Also on the terrace, you will find the villaâs outdoor kitchen with a built-in gas grill and mini-fridge. Completing this space, a large dining table makes it easy for guests to enjoy alfresco dining.
The villaâs bedroom suites are spacious, air-conditioned, and designed for comfort. Each bedroom is equipped with a private bathroom. The villaâs master suite features a private patio that overlooks the property and has views of Tortola and beyond.
OUTDOORS SPACES
Without a doubt, guests of Villa Somoya are going to enjoy this homeâs outdoor spaces. The large covered terrace features a wide variety of seating options and provides plenty of shade from the sun. The terrace also features a Bose audio sound system.
In front of the covered patio is a deck lined with lounge chairs. Guests looking to work on their tan can do so while enjoying panoramic water views and a new pool completed in December 2021.
Between the villaâs guest bedrooms, a wooden deck is home to one of the propertyâs most spectacular vistas. This natural breezeway is a great spot for soaking in the views.
BEDROOMS
Villa Somoyaâs 3-bedroom can sleep up to 8 adults. The Master Suite and one of the guest bedrooms both feature king-sized beds. The third bedroom features two queen-sized beds.

For vehicle rentals, we recommend Mahogany Car Rentals, you can find them online with a quick search or we can share details after you reserve the villa. All of the local rental companies have similar vehicles and rates but we think Mahogany provides the best service. They will bring your vehicle to the ferry dock/airport for your arrival. After a few minutes of paperwork with their attendant, we will escort you to the Villa and get you checked in.
Taxis are available but can add up, we are happy to share our favorite Taxi Driver's details after booking.
Virgin Gorda is the perfect place to "island hop" from, we can also help you arrange a boat charter to some of our sister islands. Day trip to places like Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, Cooper Island, Norman Island, Scrub Island, and more....
PRICING STRUCTURE Our villas have a base rate for smaller occupancy, with additional charges for each extra person or room up to capacity. This tiered pricing is common across the island and accommodates various group sizes. Given the limited number of hotels, this ensures couples and smaller groups can enjoy our villas affordably, making our villas flexible for all budgets and needs.
The VG Villas Management team was very helpful. The villa was a perfect place for 3 couples...nice private bedrooms and bath, as well as large commen areas. Very comfortable home. Good location, close to Spanish town ferry dock, Riteway grocery, The Baths and many really good reataurants. It is best renting a car in my opinion for flexibility.
The villa was perfect. Very clean. It has the best view of sunset on the island. Thatâs not hyperbole. It literally has an unobstructed view of the sun setting over St. John. The 360 degree views are unreal. The view from the master closet is better than most views we have ever encountered. The back side of the villa faces East and is surrounded by enormous boulders. The villa incorporates the boulders throughout the property. There is a resident iguana that comes out around 12 pm to sun. Heâs pictured as well. Honestly, couldnât have asked for more in a place to stay. Make sure you hit Coco Maya for dinner. Tapas style and everything is really good. If you are in town for a full moon, go to Little Dix for the beach party. It is open to visitors from outside the resort (fire dancer pictured). I suggest having dinner or going to the Full Moon Party to see this resort. It is the nicest resort in the Virgin Islands. We were married there 20 years ago, so we are biased, but it has won best resort 35 years running. Best views of Moskito, Necker, Saba Rock, and North Sound Harbour can be had at Hog Heaven restaurant. We went for lunch and dinner and did not regret it. We used Speedyâs for our Jeep rental and they were great.
Christi ensure that all our needs were met during our stay. From greeting us at the ferry, arranging car rental, to escorting us to the villa and stocking the frig with bacon,/eggs/OJ/bread/cream/butter & coffee for breakfast the next day.
The villa is situated on Windy Hill -appropriately named for the non stop breezes from the water. The 360 degree views were magnificent! Sunrises and sunsets second to none.
The kitchen is well stocked with table & cookware. The villa has 3 huge bedrooms with ensuite and AC. The outdoor back patio is very large - large dining table to accommodate 14 plus. Grill, refrigerator and multiple seating areas make this an ideal location for gatherings.
The island was easy to navigate - despite minimal street signage. We explored the island easily in one day. Three beaches we visited several times - Savannah Beach, Spring Bay and Pond Bay. Spring was our favorite. The Baths were also magnificent.
The island residents are still recovering from the devastating hurricane in 2017. Despite the challenging conditions that many homes, stores and establishments are still facing the residents of the island are lovely, pleasant and friendly.
The Bath & Turtle, Top of the Baths and CocoMaya were our favorites eateries. Waitress Sharon at Bath & Turtle was pleasure to meet!
Highly recommend Villa Somoya.
