About this property
Stone House Farm – Exceptional and Peaceful. Come Stay!
Welcome and thank you for visiting the STONE HOUSE FARM page! My name is David, and along with my wife Brodie, we are the owners and hosts of this special property. For the past five years, we have had the joy of sharing Stone House Farm with guests and hearing how much they love the beautifully-restored farmhouse, rural views, trail walks, family games, birdwatching, bonfires, and much more!
Located just outside the southwest metro of the Twin Cities, Stone House Farm offers an extraordinary setting for a rural lodging experience. And yet it’s so close to the metro that many guests stay at the farm as their home base while visiting the Twin Cities!
The farm is distinguished by its unique, nearly 100-year-old, superbly-clean, 3-bedroom, 2-bath stone farmhouse. You’ll be surrounded by 115 private acres of rolling hills, native grasses, and mature trees. The secluded "Back 40” natural area with a meandering creek and maintained trails is a special place to walk, cross-country ski, and view wildlife.
Guests come from near and far to enjoy all the farm has to offer—cookouts by the outdoor fireplace, stories and s'mores over the bonfire ring (split wood provided), family fun like disc golf, horseshoes, corn hole, ping pong, foosball, table games, piano, mountain bikes (provided), or just kicking back and taking in the picturesque rural views.
Venture off the farm to visit the many area attractions—Minnesota's Largest Candy Store, Valley Fair, many golf courses and lakes, horseback riding, zip lining, fall festivals, apple orchards, and much, much more.
The Psalmist wrote, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” We hope this is what you experience at Stone House Farm.
OUR PROMISE
You and your family/group deserve and can expect an excellent stay, from accurate representation of the property, pricing, and policies to a home cleaned to the highest standards to prompt communication and attention to any needs that arise.
Our aim is that you have a wonderful experience, bringing home many happy memories and dreaming of coming back!
You are encouraged to read on for more details. And of course the “photos are worth a thousand words.” We look forward to answering any questions and being your host at Stone House Farm!

MORE ABOUT STONE HOUSE FARM…
IMPORTANT POLICIES:
* Two members of your group are 35+ years old.
* No one outside your approved group is allowed on the property, except with advance owner permission.
* No parties or behavior that disturbs our neighbors, such as loud voices or music.
PRICING, DISCOUNTS, and MORE: Pricing is based on time of year and total number of guests. "Host fee" is cleaning fee. 10% discount for 7+ night stays. 2 night minimum stay.
HISTORY and DECOR: The stone farmhouse was built in the 1920s with our family purchasing the farm in 2019. You will find pictures, poems, and other items around the house that represent our family and Christian faith.
SETTING: You will enjoy plenty of privacy on the farm's 115 acres. The farmhouse is set back a quarter mile from quiet Sawmill Road and perched atop a hill with beautiful views in nearly every direction. The Back 40 natural acreage, much of it reflecting the original prairie landscape of Minnesota, is a treat to explore. Each season at the farm—winter, spring, summer, and fall—offers its own unique experience!
FARM LIFE: Stone House Farm is a working farm. Depending on time of year, you will likely see our friendly farmer-neighbors working the fields or their cows munching away in the back pasture. There is no livestock around the farmhouse…but you will probably hear some “MOOS” in the distance!
LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM, KITCHEN: All three rooms on the main level are open and connected and filled with natural light. The LIVING ROOM is suited for relaxing on the comfy chairs and couch. The DINING ROOM with its large table is perfect for family meals and games. The KITCHEN is fully equipped for all your culinary ideas, with double-oven and range, Kuerig Duo coffee maker, and a traditional farm sink overlooking the yard. Full list of kitchen items available upon request.
BEDROOMS and BATHROOMS: There is one bedroom with a queen bed on the main level and two bedrooms upstairs, one with a king bed and the other with two twins. Full bathrooms with tiled showers on main and upper levels. There is also an additional room upstairs for reading or kids play.
OUTDOOR FIREPLACE, PATIO, GRILL, FIRE RINGS: Great for family times, meals, and taking in life at the farm. Free split firewood available.
RECREATION: Four mountain bikes are available (nice gravel roads to ride), as well as ping pong, foosball, disc golf course, bean bag toss, ladder ball, and horseshoe pit. Board games, puzzles, and a digital piano are also available. In winter, bring your cross country skis, snowshoes, and sled.
DOG: We are open to your bringing one dog if you and your group are able/willing to abide by the Dog Agreement.
INTERNET and TV: The farmhouse has free high-speed wifi, a 40” LED TV with a Roku set top device for streaming television (e.g. DirecTV and other apps), two adapters (Apple and Android) for streaming directly from your device, a DVD player, and a digital antenna that receives 30+ local channels.
FARM FRESH EGGS: Eggs from pasture-raised hens (highest designation) from the farm next door can be ordered and delivered to the fridge in advance of your arrival.
