Location:It is very close to the entrance to Petra (200 meters). There are shops nearby and items are cheaper there than what in the market inside of Petra.
The hotel was just okay. The staff at check-in was cordial and friendly. The room was acceptable but not great. The outlet in the bathroom did not work and they were not able/willing to fix it while we were in the room. They did provide an adapter to use with another outlet so we could plug our devices in. There are no amenities in the room besides a few glasses and a small refrigerator. There is no coffee-maker and tea and coffee is only offered on the terrace (where it is expensive). The meals were average and it was somewhat annoying to have the staff continuously hover around us looking for a plate, spoon or cup to take away as soon as we were done with it. They might learn that westerners like to ear their meals in peace and not be constantly stared at.
The beds were rather comfortable but there was only a cover sheet and a heavy blanket - no sheet to put between oneself and the blanket. For our purposes (spending only one night after spending several hours in Petra) it was adequate but it is not a place that we would care to spend several days.

An airport shuttle (available 24 hours) is available for a fee. A sauna, a terrace, and tour/ticket assistance are also featured at the business-friendly Edom Hotel.
