The way this listing mislead you that you have a room for your entire stay ruins vacations. Both my sister and I used VRBO to book at this resort and we were both told we had to move out and switch rooms upon check-in, not anytime before. Do not use.
We enjoyed our stay in the Waikoloa Marriott Ocean Club - 1 bedroom (timeshare side of the complex - hotel and timeshare). Through the Ocean Club, you are in a different tower than the regular hotel guests and staff services like the number of cleaning per days of stay is less, but you can request services as needed. We like that this complex has swimming pools and then a beach all within a short walk of each other. For the Ocean Club, the parking was included. We also received an inquiry to visit the timeshare desk that provided a useful discount at the hotel restaurant and another fine dining option.
We also enjoyed the food at the Hawaii Calls restaurant downstairs for special occasion meals (more on the pricier side, but we enjoyed the food). The restaurant staff was helpful, but may have been stretched thin with the busy holiday season as service was good, but pace was slower.
Another plus is that the Waikoloa Marriott hotel is right across the street from the King's Shops for a variety of restaurants and shops. The Queens is a longer walk 0.4 miles, but still walkable.
We like the setup of the 1 bedroom with a King Bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room to allow for our daughter to travel with us. The appliances like washer/dryer a .
The only downside was the AC unit would turn on unexpectedly at night even if the control said "Off", but this was minor compared to the overall positives of the property and the welcoming attitude of the staff.
