Great stay again in Waitsfield!

Thanks again Meg for a great stay in Waitsfield. Great location for our visit. The leaves were colorful, and the beer was good! We enjoy staying in your cozy house, always nice to come back to at the end of each day. Looking forward to our next stay.

Cozy, quaint, convenient

Our annual fall trip to Vermont was made even better by the comfortable accommodations we had in this home. Meg made reserving the home very easy and made sure we had everything we needed, providing great information on the area. We won't hesitate to come back next year!

Quaint spot with great hostess chill out and get away from it all. No TV or internet

This was a nice place right in town. Our hostess was most gracious. We stayed 4 nights on a ski trip to Sugarbush. This was the most economical option for our group of 4. If you can't do stairs, this is not for you. Bath/shower is upstairs along with 2 single beds. A queen bed and sofa are on the first floor. Our hostess brought us wonderful craft bread one day, gave us a gift card to get chocolates from a local shop and offered to drive us to the mountain when we had some car trouble. There is one very good restaurat for dinner in walking distance and several a short drive away. No TV or internet, so be ready for that.

Great location & thoughtful host

We loved staying at Meg's place! She was a responsive and thoughtful host, and the location is perfect. FYI, the stairs are a bit steep & narrow and the bathroom is on the 2nd floor. This was not an issue for me, but my Mom felt a little uncomfortable. Again, not a big deal for most people, just something to consider if you are traveling with a person who has trouble with certain staircases. Overall, we loved the stay and visiting Waitsfield. Thanks Meg!

A great return to the heart of the Mad River Valley

We had another lovely stay with Meg at her beautiful place. Everything was perfect. It's a great location to explore the hiking trails, swimming holes and restaurants of the Mad River Valley. Meg was very friendly and helpful, and was especially attentive to the needs of our family (love the toy garage!). We will be back!!!

Welcoming owner; great location

The property was very cute; the house unique. Meg was very sweet and left us great local info, a map, and a little gift. Luckily Vermont humidity seems on the low side, because the property has no air conditioning. There were fans, which helped because the upstairs where the bathroom and second bedroom are, got very hot. I'm not sure anyone could comfortably sleep up there in hot weather. Instructions on how to open the skylight would be helpful; I think my hubby accidentally broke a tiny piece of plastic holding on the blinds because we couldn't figure out how to open the skylight, but Meg was right that opening it did help with the heat. The mattress downstairs was on the hard/springy side, but putting down a comforter from upstairs made it quite comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Escape in Waitsfield

My wife and I stayed in this property for a few days in March and did some skiing. The property was quirky but comfortable and had everything we needed. The host (Meg) was super nice and helped us out when the weather did not cooperate. There are shops and restaurants to visit in town within walking distance, and there is a town shuttle bus that goes up to Sugarbush and leaves just below the property at the main road. Super convenient. We hope to return again in the future for another stay!

Long Ski Weekend

My wife and two college-age daughters had a great MLK-day weekend skiing at Sugarbush and Mad River. The house was great (very clean too!) and Meg (our host) did a fantastic job making us feel welcome: We found a few loaves of local fresh-baked bread when we arrived, along with a gift certificate to a nearby breakfast spot, and lots of info about places to go in and around Waitsfield, including some very good restaurants. The house is right in town, which was really convenient for hopping on the free bus to Sugarbush, walking to grab something to eat, or the fact that the roads are very well plowed (it mattered this weekend since there was a big snowstorm). Highly recommended.

Snow!

First time at the cottage in stick season, and while some things in the village were closed, there were still plenty of things to do, places to eat (new fave eating spot is Worthy Burger Too), books to buy. And we had a beautiful snowfall, which made it perfect. As always, Meg is a fabulous host, and the cottage is lovely and cosy.

Fantastic family stay

Stayed for a week in this gorgeous house. Everything was spotless. Meg was a fantastic host. Left us a chalk map of the village on the bench top which was very helpful and some other local information. The house is in a great location with local restaurants close, some lovely shops and very close to Mad River which you can swim or paddle in, very family friendly. Meg left us some lovely fresh local bread mid week - very tasty. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back here and would recommend this house and village to others. Thank you Meg for a lovely week and the tasty treat we had at the Sweet Spot.

Great base for exploring the Mad River Valley!

Once again, we had a lovely time at Meg's place. She was warm and welcoming, and was available when needed. She even remembered our kids from years back, and had toys waiting. Very comfortable place, with everything we needed. Right next door to the swimming hole and great stores and restaurants, but really quiet. Loved it...again!

Charming home that is conveniently located near cute shops and calm part of the river (summer). We were just a short drive to local restaurants and about 15-20 mins from Waterbury. Perfect balance for our little family.

Meg is a very considerate and creative host. A chalk sketch of the town greeted me upon entering. Meg also provided a hard copy map that is now dog eared. The cinammon raisin bread was the best treat. The house is centrally located that permitted me to take in sights without the use of my car. The house is very comfortable and cools off quite nicely in the evening which is important when the temperature soared to 81.
