The house Lahr is a detached house in Waldstatt (Canton Appenzell - near St Gallen) on a large plot. It offers great comfort (free internet use, garage and. Parking for cars) and is well equipped for families with 4 to 6 people. There are three bedrooms (one with a balcony), a large kitchen with all imaginable extras and granite worktop, two bathrooms (one with a washing machine), a living room, storage room and cellar. You have an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountain panorama from all rooms. The car can be loaded and unloaded in the garage. In addition, a bed, a high chair and a special backpack are available for small children (this allows the child to be carried on hikes).
Skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, winter hiking, ice skating and many other things are possible in winter. There are several ski areas nearby.
In summer, mountain hiking, hiking, swimming (also in the outdoor pool only 50m from the house), paragliding, cycling, golf and much more are possible. The peaks can be easily reached with the nearby cable cars. At 850 meters above sea level M live in your own house and enjoy the landscape and the mountain panorama with an unobstructed view in all directions - that's what is offered here. The large garden, terrace and balcony are available for single use. 50m away there is a heated outdoor pool with a playground and restaurants. The house is about 10 km away from St. Gallen with a cultural offer such as a historic monastery, museums, theater, gallery, art gallery, casino, cafes, restaurants, pedestrian zone, etc. Water sports, sailing, windsurfing and swimming on Lake Constance (25 km away) are very attractive in summer.
The nearby golf course in Gonten (15 minutes by car - 18-hole course, par 70) - 910 m above sea level is very interesting, because of its mountain location it offers interesting playing opportunities. A paragliding school is nearby. Hikes can also be started from the house. Cycling, mountain hiking and even a child-friendly visit to the zoo in nearby Gossau are only a fraction of the many possibilities.

Beware of garbage disposal that falls on you, as there in no garbage collection service in Waldstatt
It was a very quiet and nice place. We had trouble understanding where and how to dispose of the garbage. The instructions about this were only in German and we were not accustomed to the habits of Switzerland. Next time we will know!

Nice house
The house was in a great location. The owner was very responsive. When we first got there, the garage was not unlocked but he quickly had someone come and remedy the situation. The house is basic and clean. The washing machine was an added bonus. Since we are Americans, it would be nice to have some explanation of some of the appliances in English. It also was quite warm and a few fans would have made the experience more comfortable
