Our completely detached “Haus Friesische Weite” is situated in the vast, fresh Frisian marshlands, surrounded by lush meadows and fields near the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2009.
Here at “Haus Friesische Weite,” two beautiful, cozy, and modernly furnished vacation apartments—fully equipped to meet our guests’ needs—await you and your children. The North Sea resort of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel offers a wide range of vacation activities for children and parents. First, there’s the old harbour in Carolinensiel. Today, this historic harbour is home to a museum harbour featuring traditional Frisian flat-bottomed sailboats. Take a stroll or stop by one of the lovely restaurants to watch the lively hustle and bustle around the harbour!
You’ll enjoy the view of the old ships, the harbour promenade with its cafés, tea rooms, and restaurants, as well as the paddle steamer “Concordia II,” a replica of the old “Concordia I” from 1854. This paddle steamer operates a shuttle service on the Harle River, taking you from the museum harbour past the “Haus des Gastes,” through the Friedrichsschleuse lock, and on to the marina in Harlesiel on the North Sea.
There’s also the “Haus des Gastes,” which offers a wide range of entertainment and relaxation options. For example, parents can read in peace while their children are looked after by experienced staff. Of course, the whole family loves going to the beautiful beach here, but you can also go swimming at the “Cliner Quelle” saltwater recreational pool (wading pool, sauna, tanning beds, beauty and wellness area, and the popular “Moonlight Swim” once a week). Or, in the summer, you can visit the heated seawater outdoor pool in Harlesiel. For children, growing teenagers, and really the whole family, there’s the “Happy Family Club” with programs and plenty of activities. On vacation in Carolinensiel, there’s always something to do—whether it’s sports and games, entertainment, or relaxation.

Sophiengroden and the small village of Neugarmssiel are part of the Wangerland municipal association, which has a lot to offer tourists. Right in our immediate vicinity, there are a whole host of excellent seaside restaurants and many other tourist attractions.
You’ll also find plenty of shopping options nearby in the climatic health resort of Hohenkirchen, the heart of Wangerland. There you’ll also find the “Nordsee Spielstadt Wangerland,” a large recreational area with many attractions for all ages.
The best way to reach the beautiful, expansive sandy beach at Schillig may be by bike on a scenic ride along the dike. The North Sea spa town of Horumersiel-Schillig is one of Germany’s most popular vacation destinations. Here you’ll
