This beautifully finished apartment is perfect for a Washington, D.C. stay. Have fun with the great open layout and entertainment space. Get a great night's sleep on a luxury memory foam queen mattress. And take advantage of the free on street parking. Close to great restaurants and bars in the H street corridor and Union Market. A short distance to the Capitol and museums, you will never run out of things to do! Enjoy yourself in our beautiful city!

The space

Comfortable Setting - The English basement has an open layout with sliding pocket doors leading to the bedroom.

Extra queen sized sofa bed - There is one queen sized bed in the bedroom and one of the living room sofas can be pulled out into a queen sized bed.

Convenience - We stock the kitchenette with the kitchen ware you'll need if you decide to do some light cooking, including a microwave, electric kettle, and great coffee maker with coffee provided.

Great location - The neighborhood is quiet and great public transit makes accessing the many nearby attractions easy! The U.S. Capitol is only 1.3 miles away and the White House is 2.3 miles away, with many of the Smithsonian museums in between! A 15 minute walk will get you to the NOMA Metro Station or we are located within a 7 minute walk of two major bus lines in DC (the D/D8 and X2 busses).

-- Fun space - Enjoy the guitar hero and video games, card decks and board games, and free Netflix and HBO.

-- PARKING - We offer our guests one free guest parking pass that can be used on our street. There is ample street parking in our neighborhood and we have never had any issues with theft or damage.

Kitchen: The kitchen has a dishwasher, hot plate, convection toaster oven, mini refrigerator, and microwave.

Access/Mobility Concerns: There are several steps from the sidewalk up to the house and then another few down to the front entrance of the apartment.

Timing: Check-in is anytime after 3:00pm, check-out is 11:00am.

Cleaning: The apartment is professionally cleaned between every stay.

Infants/Toddlers: We have a "pack n play" available for guests traveling with little ones.

Other items: We have a safe in the apartment to secure any valuables.

Public transit cards: There are SmartTrip cards (for much easier use of the bus and metro/subway) available in the apartment for use. We use an honors system and ask that you return the cards recharged with whatever you used so the next guest can enjoy the same privilege.

Noise: Please note, we have three small children upstairs, who you may hear at times during your stay. We do our best to keep them quiet before 8AM and after 8PM, though at times there may be minor noise before 8AM. We understand that as a result, this rental may not be for everyone. Thank you for understanding!

This apartment was a great choice for our quick trip to DC. Our hosts were very nice and very accommodating. It is in a very convenient location in a nice neighborhood where we felt very safe in our little hideaway. The place was extremely clean and the bed and mattress were very comfortable. There are stores and restaurants nearby and it is pretty much a 15 to 20 minute or less Uber ride anywhere you want to go. The hosts will provide a permit for street parking also if needed. Overall we had a great trip and I would highly recommend this apartment for couples or small families. There is a pocket door that separates the bedroom from the living room where there is a pullout couch so it is overall a small space but well laid out and just exactly what we needed for our trip. Thank you to our hosts!!

This was a very clean and orderly apartment. We loved the signs throughout the apartment. The bed was comfortable and no issues with street parking. Heather was very responsive to my questions. If you plan to do sightseeing in DC, our recommendation is to use the closest metro station, NoMa Galludet University. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Metro. We found this to be the most convenient way to see the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment for future visits!

Great stay close to almost everything

Will definitely recommend to others that travel alone or couple... bed and pull out couch were comfortable.. would recommend bringing a cooler as the mini fridge is not very big and no ice trays in freezer. Everything was up to expectations.

Perfect small apartment for a 3 night stay in DC. We had everything we needed. Walked to Trader Joes for a few groceries and Union Market for dinner (twice!) There's even a cool indie movie theater within walking distance. Easy access to all the capital places. Heather was very responsive to minor issues that we had. We would come back again!

We had a great stay. Apartment was clean. Would have liked to know that kids were in the upstairs apartment to expect the running around but was not upset because I have kids. Quite neighborhood. This was a perfect place for our needs. We were going to DC for our son’s graduation. This is very close to Gallaudet and Catholic University of America is 2 metro stops away. The Union Market is close by. Heather, the host, was flexible and responsive to what we needed. She seems to have thought of everything. It’s small details -like having a couple of metro cards to use, a wine bottle opener, coffee filters, and a Pyrex container to put in leftovers. She has a book by the TV which is very helpful. WiFi is strong. It is an older structure so there are some things to follow- like do not run the hot plate at the same time as the microwave. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were nice, and the bath towels were soft. You are in a neighborhood and on the bottom floor so you will hear life going on. We enjoyed this aspect but it may not be for everyone. We had people over (7 altogether) and everyone was comfortable. All in all this was a real gem to stay at at a price cheaper than the surrounding hotels. This is definitely a place I would recommend to CUA and Gallaudet parents for dropping off your college kids, going for parents’ weekend, or going to graduation.

DC museum and monument tour

The location of this vacation house was ideal for walking and touring the Capita and within walking distance to a grocery and convenience stores. The house was clean and organized. A couple of upgrades would make it a little more comfortable. My only inconvenience I expressed to the owner was they have infant children upstairs and you could hear them walking around. It was not to bothersome but it was unexpected.

Smooth check in, found parking easily, in a good area, overall a really nice spot! Everything was nice and owners took the time to make a nice info booklet and had other tips and such all over the place. Only things were the sheet to the pull out mattress looked dirty, there was glitter and hair on it, and then kids upstairs woke us up before 7am sounded like they were jumping off of furniture right above our heads. We had to be up early anyways, so not a huge deal, but probably will not be able to sleep in here.
