We booked a room with two beds. They overbooked and gave us a room with a queen bed shoved in with a king. No room to walk, very cramped. When I asked to switch they gave me a hard time. After insisting on talking to a manager they suddenly found me the room type I booked. I shouldnt' have had to do this. We added breakfast to our room when booking. When my adult daughters went to breakfast 25 minutes before it closed they were told there wasn't room for them. They were eventually offered a boxed breakfast. Hardly the experience we paid for. At 2 minutes before the restaurant closed, they sat 2 adult males. Awful experience from the moment we checked in.

I was surprised with the location and also the rooms. A wonderful retreat for a calm working or family environment. My only challenge was the cost of on-site parking yet the in/out options around the hotel made things better.

The Lyle is a charming older hotel located close to Dupont Circle and convenient to all of the bars, restaurants and other commercial establishments in the area. Room was a bit small but very comfortable and the fitness room was well equipped.
