The room was nice, but not nice enough to justify the price. I’ve stayed at Marriott properties that were nicer, but much cheaper. I really wanted to try this property because I heard so much about the Salamander, but I was disappointed. I was expecting bells and whistles for the price. Our room only had 1 bottle of water and no one ever answered the phone at the front desk when I tried to call to request another. The valet parking is RIDICULOUS! $86 per night is highway robbery and there is no option for self parking. I stayed 1 night and was charged for 2 days of parking. I’m glad that I looked at my bill. I’m still waiting for my credit card to be refunded. I doubt that I’ll stay here again when planning another stay in DC.

It is 4th time we stay at this hotel, arrived an hour earlier for check in, eded up waitting over 2 hours at the lobby with two kids. Explanation was room not ready. Not acceptable for hotel of this size and caliber.

The Salamander was an total Outstanding experience.the customer service from the Bellstand to the front desk to the Dogon restaurant staff, everyone was absolutely lovely! Highly recommend.

The room was nice, good view. The service could be taken up a notch for the class of hotel. The Doormen were often just staring at their phones. As well, I had requested an amenity list so we could add something special to celebrate our anniversary. It was never received. Breakfast buffet was very good.
