A nice property located in an old building, but newly renovated. Very nice breakfast. Staff was friendly. Good location between old town and train station.

We had to cancel our trip due to floods which caused all trains to be cancelled while we were travelling to Wernigerode. We contacted the hotel as soon as it was clear that we would have to turn around but they were unwilling to offer us any form of refund or re-booking, even though the reason for us having to cancel was entirely out of our hands. It’s the middle of winter (therefore the off-peak season) and a sign of good faith from the hotel to us would have been very welcome, even though the policy on their website is clear regarding their unwillingness to offer refunds at short notice.
