Room for the Whole Crew After a Day on the Slopes @ Bluff Mtn Retreat

Spend your weekend getaway or weeklong vacation at this cozy 1860 square foot cabin for 10, just minutes from West Jefferson and Boone offering 4 sleeping spaces and 3 baths. As picturesque mountain views stretch out beyond your covered front porch, enjoy a cup of coffee to start your day off right or spend the evening relaxing under the stars in the bubbling hot tub.

The living, dining and kitchen area create an open and welcoming environment when you step inside Bluff Mountain Retreat.
The living area features a large flat screen tv, gas fireplace, cozy sofa, and chairs along with hardwood floors throughout. You will love unwinding from your adventures or when evening starts turn on the TV for a movie night.

Just off the living area is the spacious kitchen and dining area. Complete with stainless appliances, and meal-prep tools aplenty for hearty meals or snacks, the kitchen has everything you need. There’s even a dishwasher for quick clean up. The spacious dining table seats 8 comfortably with two benches and two chairs. You can even gather round the table for a game of cards or just a quick chat.

Also on the main level is a spacious hall bath with step in shower and double vanities and a primary bedroom featuring a comfy king bed with flat screen TV.

Climb the steps to the upstairs and you will find two more bedrooms with a shared bath with tub/shower combo. One bedroom features a king bed with twin bed, spacious closets, and a flat screen TV. The second bedroom features a queen bed with flat screen tv.
Venture downstairs and you will find another sleeping area or a great place to hang out with a flat screen TV. The sleeping area features two twins that can be converted to a king bed! A full bath with tub/shower is easily accessible off the room.

Just steps away is the garage where you will find a 3 in 1 game table including foosball, air hockey, and pool – great for a friendly competition.

Step outside on this level and you will find the hot tub where you can soak your cares away! Also, you will find a charcoal and gas grill for your grilling pleasure.

Off the main level living area is a covered front porch complete with Adirondack chairs and wicker furniture for relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views of Bluff Mountain Nature Preserve.

One of the most beautiful and ecologically significant natural heritage sites in the southeast, Bluff Mountain Nature Preserve, offers visitors scenic beauty, unusual landforms, and an amazing botanical variety. Within mere steps in the preserve lie a Carolina hemlock forest, a dwarf red oak/white oak forest, and a rare flat rock plant community.

Bluff Mountain Retreat is just a short drive to West Jefferson which offers great restaurants, a vibrant downtown area with quaint shops and easy access to grocery stores. Pets up to 40lbs are welcomed with a non-refundable pet fee. Note: Pets allowed with a $75 per stay per pet. Airbnb/VRBO will only automatically
charge one pet. The host will add an additional $75 for each pet if you are bringing more than one pet.

Had a fantastic experience! From ease of check-in to beautiful views, fun activities and comfy beds - it was a great getaway. Bluff Mountain Retreat was perfect for our party of 7 (that included 3 boys age 13). The accommodations included everything we needed and more. The hot tub was relaxing and game room was entertaining. Even though it was a little chilly and rainy, we opted for an afternoon of Monopoly (from the game room). Love this rental property and West Jefferson! Can’t wait to go back!

Great mountain vacation home. Well stocked and clean

Nice house. No communication from rental agency 
. Had to call them on day of check in. Place was clean and exactly as listed. Bathroom on first floor needs to be repaired but other than that great place.

Mountain Thanksgiving with family

The home was cozy and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfy and they had plenty of blankets. It had everything that was on the listing. The only negative was that we arrived at check in time which was 4:00 and they would not give us the code to get in because the cleaning lady was not finished and she was not even there. They finally agreed to give us the code and she came about 5 minutes later. She was pretty friendly.

Beautiful backdrop!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will want to come again! Beds were comfy, hot tub was clean, and you really can’t beat the views!! I would suggest bringing grippy socks or house slippers bc the floors are kind of slick.

Peaceful and relaxing

5 of us stayed for our annual girls’ trip. We loved sitting out on the balcony, used the hot tub, visited downtown and a nearby winery (highly recommend!) and hiked the Grayson highlands and saw the wild ponies.

One of the best!

This was of the best cabins I have had the pleasure to stay in! Very clean and close to everything. I will absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a get away and would definately stay again.

Hot tub was slimy

One of the main reason we selected this property for our trip to Boone was the hot tub. When opening the top flap, there was a clear scent of algae, or a swampy smell. Even after turning on the bubbles that didn’t change anything. The surface underwater felt slimy to the touch. The water was ever so lightly green? We were very disappointed with the state of the hot tub. Saturday around 5:30 PM was when we discovered this issue, and we called the rental property phone number which led to voicemail. We left a message and but we never received a call back. Overall, very disappointed with our stay as this was the main perk we were looking forward to, and we couldn’t even use it, even though we had to sign a rental agreement prior to the stay, and the cleanliness of the hut tub was explicitly listed in the contract. Would mot recommend this place

We enjoyed our stay at Bluff Mtn retreat. The property had not been thoroughly cleaned, but upon calling the property manager they resolved the issue. The house was nice and accommodated our party of 9. It is a pet friendly home so there was lots of pet hair, which is to be expected. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Comfortable cabin with beautiful views

We just finished a three night stay at Bluff Mountain Retreat and had a great time. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated, had a well equipped kitchen, and provided the perfect amount of room for our family (three generations staying for the weekend). The beds were all very comfortable and we appreciated the ceiling fans in each room. The gas logs were nice and the view from the front porch and hot tub were beautiful. Hot water was plentiful for our party of 7. The property had carbon monoxide detectors. The small game room and selection of games was also popular. Bluff Mountain is easily accessible and convenient to West Jefferson. A couple of things that are good to know: the floors are real wood and are slick if you’re wearing socks (bring some slippers or socks with grippers if you feel the need); it’s windy in this little corner of the world—like rattle the windows at night windy. The wind didn’t bother us but it was a bit of surprise. The driveway is steep; it was easier for us to use the second entrance at the back of the house. The downstairs bedroom now has been updated since the picture; it now has two twins pushed together to make a king bed. Overall we’d recommend Bluff Mountain and would definitely stay there again. If you enjoy hiking, Mount Jefferson, Elk Knob, and Grayson Highlands are our favorite places close by or relatively close by that offer moderate hikes with great views and aren’t too crowded.
