Country Cottage

Modern country cottage on the outskirts of town. Conveniently located on highway 18 within minutes to Clermont, Postville, and Prairie Du Chen. Small but cozy room for four. Two bedrooms upstairs, with a half bath. Downstairs bathroom, with shower. Comfortable sectional to relax on. WiFi to surf or stream movies. Kitchenette with apartment size stove and oven. Front porch to enjoy visiting or watching a sunset. There is a cozy log cabin and farmhouse nearby, that can be rented for more in your party, all within walking distance. We have a NO animals allowed policy and No smoking/vaping inside any buildings during your stay. Contractor reservations need prior approval with host.

There are no guests to be sleeping over night on the couches in the Living room. These are for sitting only.
Please place throw pillows and pillow shams( fancy pillows) to the side, and do not use them to sleep on.
We have a NO animals allowed policy-noncompliance to this will result in $800 extra fee. We also have a NO smoking/vaping in buildings policy.

Perfect Cute Cabin

The cabine was in the perfect location as it was close to all of the places I needed to go while I stayed for the weekend. It was a little confusing finding the correct door to get into but that was a very minor issue and did not cause any problems once we figured it out. Still deserves 5 stars. It was clean, organized, labels on everything, information clearly available to know everything we needed for our stay. I wish I would have had more time to enjoy the cabin as there was plenty to enjoy with games, TV, Internet, and it was so comfortable. Well worth the reservation.

Stay! You won’t be disappointed!

These cabins on the outskirts of town are so nice! We always enjoy our trips to NE Iowa, and this beautifully kept cabin made our stay even better! So clean, so homey! We’ll stay again and again! The host was great about communicating and the check in and check out was so nice and easy.

Did not receive check-in code (or I missed it). Checked email inbox, junk, and trash. Property was not quite as described. Upstairs bath is not a half bath, but rather a Quarter bath with toilet only. Fully carpeted and looked as though it was a closet. It had a curtain and no door. Located in a bedroom. AC was on main floor, and one small unit upstairs. Both working. Another portable unit was in the main bedroom. It was running upon arrival, but the large venting hose was laying in the floor venting directly into the room. It was very hot. Opened the small window and vented the hot air out myself. The room has to be cooled down. Later told by the owner this unit was not supposed to be used. No signage indicating that. They said the smaller unit in the other bedroom was only one to be used with a fan to blow into the larger room, leaving the door open. No privacy for the person in the bedroom if AC is needed. Upon arrival, the glade-plug-in scent was overwhelming. So much so, it was a constant reminder of an unwanted scent. Didn’t know there was a race track nearby, and it was very noisy upon arrival. VRBO support was helpful to get us in the property. Busy activities in the area for us. Told the owners of the AC issue upon checkout. Received a reply I should have told them earlier. We were gone, and I resolved the issue myself as best I could. I appreciate they wanted to take care of the issue, however, it was resolved and can be fixed after our stay.

Perfect Getaway

We had a mid-week stay at the Country Cottage due to some work being done at our house. Shira was great to work with and was very accommodating, which we really appreciated. The cottage was lovely - it was comfortable and relaxing. It was surprisingly quiet even though it is located next to a busy highway. We would definitely stay here again and give it a high recommendation for family visiting the area.

Pleasant Experience

Country Cottage is nicely decorated, well stocked, and super clean. It made our visit to West Union a pleasant experience in October. We recommend visiting Northeast Iowa in late October to see beautiful fall foliage and staying at Country Cottage to make it an even better experience.
