Two Luxury Homes, One Unforgettable Experience

Your rental includes both the 4-bedroom Lodge and 2-bedroom Guest House. Each home features its own hot tub, full kitchen, outdoor dining, 2 car garage with EV charger and covered deck with mountain views of Yellowstone National Park.

The Lodge: Sleeps 8 guests with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, dining for 12, a dual-sided wood fireplace, a game room, and a 7-person hot tub.

The Guest House: Sleeps 6 guests with 2 bedrooms, a loft, 2 bathrooms, a wood stove, a game room, and a 6-person hot tub.

Premium Amenities Included

Both homes feature central air conditioning and heat, new Purple mattresses, fully stocked modern kitchens with coffee espresso/latte cold brew machines, 65-inch TVs with Hulu+ Live and Prime Video, fast WiFi, keyless entry, and on-demand hot water. We provide all linens, toiletries, cleaning supplies, bear spray, trail maps, backpacks, coolers, and firewood.

Direct Access to Outdoor Recreation

The property borders Gallatin National Forest with hiking and biking trails accessible from your back door. Park your RV or trailer easily along the private 1,300-foot gated driveway. A seasonal creek runs through the property with a campfire ring for evening gatherings.

Year-Round Yellowstone Activities

Summer: Explore Yellowstone, fly fish Blue Ribbon rivers, hike from the property, horseback riding, rodeo, zipline adventures, Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center.

Winter: Snowmobile from the property on groomed trails, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, snow coach tours into Yellowstone, Big Sky skiing. Driveway plowing included. 4WD required.

Locally Owned and Professionally Managed

We are a Montana family who built, own, and manage Shelterwood Lodge. We live minutes away and provide 24/7 support, including snow removal, maintenance, and assistance during your stay. Between each reservation, our staff deep cleans both homes and drains, cleans and refills both hot tubs. We hold a Montana commercial accommodations license with fire safety inspections.

Construction was completed in 2021 and was designed specifically for the Yellowstone climate. Both homes have superior insulation, central air conditioning and heat, and stay naturally cool in summer thanks to the shaded decks.

What an amazing place!!!

This was the BEST VRBO or other location we have ever visited!!!! The place was beautiful and in perfect condition. The hosts were extremely helpful and we didn't want to leave after our 5 nights there.

New Years in Yellowstone

This was our first trip to Montana. The houses were very clean, organized and well stocked for cooking, fun and games. It was a nice touch to have the lights on and electric fireplace going when we walked in. The kids had a fantastic time sledding on the property and building snowmen. Thanks for the coffee and hot chocolate.

Simply the Best for a YellowStone Vacation

Property was second to none and top notch. Every imenity we needed for a group of 14, traveling with two 1 yr olds (hiking backpacks and pack in plays on sight saved us LOTS of packing space 😁). Hot tubs proved immensely useful after long days of hiking, both houses more than accommodated our large group for the week. Couldn't recommend more highly, hosts were very responsive to all communication and made the stay a breeze. Won't book anywhere else for our return trip!

We had the absolute best stay at this home with our family! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how pristine and beautifully maintained everything was—truly the cleanest and most well-kept house we've ever stayed in. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more special.The location was perfect—peaceful, convenient, and just what we were hoping for. The house was fully stocked with every amenity you could think of, making it feel like a true home away from home. Cooking was an unexpected highlight; the kitchen was a dream, and they had every spice I could imagine (and then some!).We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Best Family Vacation Ever

This was a long planned trip to Yellowstone. When I found this property on VRBO - I thought it was perfect for our vacation plans. It was even more so than what we had hoped. The location is perfect. The property is beautiful and everything you can think of is provided. I am so happy I secured the property early (10 months in advance) to make sure we didn’t miss out on staying at this prime West Yellowstone vacation property. I would love to come back.

Best Choice For Yellowstone Vacation

We just returned from a week-long stay at Shelterwood in West Yellowstone. Without question, this is the nicest vacation home my family and I have ever stayed in. We were having a small family reunion with 12 adults and 3 infants (4 months to 1yr) and between the two homes, had room and amenities to spare. Not only were the homes spacious, but also modern, clean, appointed with very comfortable furniture and quiet. Jim and Toni really have thought of everything someone would need for a stay in West Yellowstone. From complimentary backpacks, strollers, cribs and highchairs to the firepit and hot tubs, my group wanted for nothing. Communication was outstanding and they were very accommodating with any request. Location couldn't be beat. I highly recommend this VRBO for anyone looking for the perfect West Yellowstone lodging.

Mountain Bliss

Beautiful home. Family reunion with 3 generations staying for a week. 7 people slept comfortably in the main house with 2 in the guest house, although all socializing was done in the main house. The great room – living, dining and kitchen – had plenty of seating. The dining table was perfect for the 9 of us as it very comfortably sat 10. Lots of good time playing games and talking here at the end of the day about our adventures. 2 couches facing each other in the living room with some side seating that also accompanied us nicely. Fun sitting out on the deck with the fire place table and watching the deer. And the hot tub was very welcome after walking around all day in Yellowstone. Nice perks – lovely array of spices (although we did not do a lot of cooking at all it was lovely to see that that was provided); abundant supply of towels; plenty of dishes and cooking apparatus; soft beds; the night lights in the house were very welcome for those of us who were up in the night; even provided body wash in the showers and hand soap at all of the sinks. The view looking out on the meadow and seeing the mountains in the distance was serene. Very close to West Yellowstone. Instructions were left for all types of things – clearly written and very welcome. Even provided coffee for the pot. This is probably the 10th VRBO house that we have rented for annual family reunions and one of the nicest. Only one suggestion – more hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels. Highly recommend this house – you will not be disappointed.
