Perfectly situated in the heart of Whitby, on one of the oldest streets in the town, Honeyz Hideaway dates back to the 1800s and has been superbly modernised. Still retaining original charm with beamed ceilings, this Grade II listed holiday apartment is located above the owner’s shop which sells handmade bath products. Sitting almost at the bottom of the 199 steps that lead up to the iconic Whitby Abbey and St Marys Church, which were said to be the inspiration to Bram Stokers novel ’Dracula’, it lies in a super location for exploring Whitby. Ideal for couples and families alike, Whitby offers something for everyone. Enjoy some seaside fun, or a long romantic stroll along the coast. There are many festivals and events throughout the year, including the famous bi-annual Goth Weekend, Whitby Regatta, Steampunk Weekend and music festivals.



The North York Moors National Park is on the doorstep. Take a steam train ride from Whitby through ’Heartbeat’ country, or jump on a tourist boat that will take you out to sea for a different view of the stunning Heritage Coast. The Cinder Track and Cleveland Way are just two of the wonderful walks in the area, and the National Cycle Network passes nearby. There are many hidden bays and coves dotted along the magnificent coastline, such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, both with links back to old pirate times and where you will also find plenty of links to Captain James Cook. There are waterfalls, abbeys and many other places to visit, including Eden Camp Museum and Flamingo Land Resort. The medieval walled city of York and the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough are within easy reach. Whitby is a great place for all ages and interests, which is why it attracts so many repeat visitors year after year. Beach 100 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

It’s a great place to stay, right in the heart of Whitby and everything’s in walking distance. The property itself was clean and comfortable. If you’re going to use your car lots maybe not the best as there’s not parking very close unless you want to pay. But overall 10/10 recommend

The accommodation was perfect for our needs and extremely convenient for looking around Whitby and well placed for visiting areas around. Although the weather was cold and wet the place was lovely and warm throughout. I would have given it 10 for all aspects but the only problem was parking it was in short supply and expensive made worse by some of the parks being restricted due to repairs going on during the winter period. A couple of further things I have stayed in many holiday cottages and it was one of the best also although it was well supplied with equipment I suggest a 3 tier steamer would be appreciated it would also save fuel for the owner.

Excellent week in Whitby at Honeyz Hideaway. Lots to see and do for all the family in our week here and the apartment was spacious and comfortable to return to each day. Honeyz shop below was lovely, we stocked up on some smellies! Great holiday had by all, and Honeyz Hideaway is in the perfect central location to explore from. Owner Vanessa was very friendly and helpful too.

It's in the perfect location. I would highly recommend staying there as we will be booking again to go back. The owner is very helpful and very easy to talk to. 5 star plus we would give it. Staying at Honeyz hideaway was a wonderful experience with the beaches, harbours, shops really close by. A lovely place to stay with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The toys in the baskets were an additional joy as my daughter loved playing with them. A really great place to stay and we will definitely be back.
