Step into this wonderfully welcoming ground floor apartment just minutes from the harbour and Whitstable Castle. The owner is delighted to offer extensive accommodation near the Tankerton Slopes in Whitstable, a perfect location for a seaside stay with the town centre within walking distance. With both the sea and the renowned Whitstable Fish Market only minutes away, you can purchase your oysters and other delicious seafood and eat it on the beach or in the cosy comfort of your Whitstable retreat!

This apartment would make an ideal romantic getaway for couples or a great base for those wishing to explore the delightful seaside town of Whitstable. There is a deceptively large open-plan sitting room with sofas to curl up and watch a good movie after a fun-filled day in town which flows through to a small dining area and well-equipped kitchen which will suit any keen chef’s! The apartment is all one one level.

The double bedroom has a super comfy bed & has an en-suite shower room with handbasin and WC. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room which would be ideal for a child or an extra friend!

There is also a separte cloakroom with WC as you enter the apartment.

A welcome hamper full of goodies awaits you and don't forget to bring your dog as we are very dog friendly!

The town and the harbour are literally a few seconds away and there is ample free parking.

We had a good stay but...
Great location. Equidistant from Tankerton and Whistable town centres. We had a great time but, to be honest, we were a little disappointed by lots of small things in relation to the property: just 1 out of 4 of the sitting room lights worked; the street level bedroom window needs opaque film or frosting for privacy; the extractor fan in bathroom did not work and when windy it clanked about audibly all night; guests need to be made aware of the noise of the water usage from the laundrette - at times it was so loud as to interfere with TV viewing for example and on one evening to at least 9:30; the front room could perhaps benefit from one less sofa (out of 3) and the addition of foot rests and a rug; the throws left to cover settees were not clean and full of other users' dog hairs; there was only one spare bin bag. The key safe may need attention as did not lock.

No 4 Tankerton Rd, flat 2
It wasn't easy to find this flat, would have been better with the Actual address rather than The Whitstable Retreat. Outside the entrance porch is unsightly due to dirt and cobwebs. Once in the flat we found it a good size, nice kitchen area and lounge. Small toilet just inside the front door. I'm not sure about the layout of the bedroom and ensuit though. The kitchen has everything you need including salt ,pepper, oil and other condiments. Pint of milk in fridge on arrival along with tea and coffee. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. We found the furniture comfortable as was the bed. Good quality bedding and towels are provided and the shower was good to. It's well situated for the harbour and town where there are plenty of pubs, places to eat and a good mix of shops. Bits i didn't like..... It could have been cleaner, cobwebs on the ceiling in lounge and bedroom, extractor fan didn't appear to work in the ensuite. Blinds on the lounge windows were dirty as well. Wifi didn't work, not sure it had any even though there was a password. Overal it's a good place to stay, good location, well kitted out.

Great base for the north Kent coast
A lovely clean, bright and well presented property in a superb location to explore the north Kent coast. Literally a couple of minutes’ walk from Whitstable harbour or castle grounds. Don’t expect stunning views from the windows but a snug and comfortable retreat after a day by the sea or a trip into (for example) Canterbury. Car parking is on-street so can be a bit of a lottery but we never had to walk further than 50m from the front door.

Late summer break
This property was in a good location for exploring Whitstable and Tankerton . It was clean and spacious but certainly not luxurious. We had a very enjoyable stay. When we arrived in Whitstable it took us quite a while to find the flat, the address we were given was for the laundrette next door which confused us. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable, but the bedding and towels were all beautifully laundered.
