We generally enjoyed this resort. Room was nice if a bit basic. Bed was quite comfortable. Nice shower. Food at the restaurants and buffet was good and occasionally great. Drinks at the bar always hit the spot. We got a couples massage on the shore and felt that was a great value. The downside for us was this - we booked The Rif as opposed to Coredon (which is the same property) because its supposed to be the adults only side - and its just not. We had kids screaming outside oir room at night and during the day at the pool below our balcony. Theres really no attempt at separation between the properties.

Stood in line to check in. 1 person helping guests, 4 talking amongst themselves. Waited 20 mins just for the 1 person helping guests to tell me I was in the wrong line. Went to correct line, waited 15 mins while the 2 people working were talking to each other instead of helping me. Ordered room service one day and never received it. Called front desk and no one answered. Went down to front desk and the one person that talked to me said they don’t do anything regarding room service. No service at the pools. You had to go to the bartender for everything and they were slow. Took over 15 min each time. Limited restaurants and terrible service at all of them. No one was helpful with anything. Very disappointed. Will not be going back.

The reviews left are justified. Some staff are not welcoming or helpful. The property is quite noticeably understaffed. The food choices are ok but food is over cooked most times and the placement of the food in the buffet area is not located in a safe directional path.

The room is a little inconvenient with the sockets to charge your phone / laptop. Other than that I had a great stay. Wife and I really loved our stay. Amazing snorkeling. Food was okay. The Buffett for breakfast and dinner was actually really good, but making a reservation at one of the specialty restaurants was annoying and the food was sub par. Staff was friendly, but service getting a drink at times could be slow. AMAZING SNORKELING can be had right off the beach at the hotel. Prime location to be able to walk into downtown Willemstad. My wife said she would definitely come back and I agree.

This resort was nice however I personally did not like that you had to make reservations the day before in order to dine at most of the restaurants. When i found this out it was already day two of my 4 day stay. I pretty much ate the same thing everyday at the same restaurant that didnt require reservations. I went on a solo and I think they should’ve made accommodations to my circumstances. Reservations for one person shouldn’t babe needed a day before reservation. Also the water slides were being maintenance and out of service the second day i arrived.

Our room condition was peeling paint on the wall, therefore, we had informed the desk and they made us wait for approximately one hour to find a new room. The service was slow pace and do not expect all staffs to be friendly. One suggestion, need to create effective restrictions on smoking areas in a facility. It is true that everyone is allowed to smoke in any location.

So I have to say not a recommendation to stay at The Rif. I will give this hotel a 3 out of 5 rating. On arrival we went to make dinner reservations and no friendly welcome from the staff at the desk. They proceeded to tell us they were all booked for the day and only buffet was available. I requested reservation for the following day and they said that was booked as well. Not accommodating at all. The buffet was ok but not the dining experience we look for at all inclusive resort. There are no upscale or indoor restaurants. All the restaurants are outdoor seating only. The Seafood and BBQ were the only ones we were able to dine at and both were pretty good and great service. Next day we headed out early to the pool and no towels available throughout the resort. They launder off site and didn’t receive the them until 1pm. Totally unacceptable for a Hilton property. Tip- grab towels for the next day as they arrive. The RIF side is super quiet, no music at the pool, mostly people reading. The Coco Bar pool at The Mangrove side is much livelier with music and a swim up bar, had a much better experience there. They have a grill and food options. The staff were not very friendly.The Rif bar was staffed with young men who were not attentive at all. Coco Bar staff were much better. Waitress Carella at Seafood restaurant was very friendly. The pros are the property is clean and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and bed was comfy. Close proximity to downtown. I would not return.

This resort exceeded my expectations, the staff is super friendly and amenities are more than ample. Clean and well manicured surroundings, good quality food and beverages with lots of options.
