Comfortable, and clean. The only drawback was that our sink had a very slow drain

We needed a last minute room and this was perfect! The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. The staff was nice and fulfilled everything we needed. The only thing was that we didn't know you had to pay to park in the hotel. You can park in the street for free as well, but we got there late at night on a Friday night and didn't want to go around to look for parking.

Nice facade, but terrible room.

Pros: Clean Good dining facilities. Central location for traveling to nearby venues.
Cons: Do not use rooms next to elevator shafts.
Location: Not an area to walk in the local area in the evening. Each time you left the garage there was a fee. Security was minimal in garage area.
Our room on the seventh floor was appropriate, however it was located immediately adjacent to the elevators. The shaft was beyond the wall and was constantly in use, and noisey, until it diminished in the early hours of the morning. Very poor sleeping environment. The dining room staff was excellent. Front desk personal were curt, but effective. Parking was additional and expensive.

Nice, clean rooms with comfortable bed

Pros: The maid did a good job cleaning the room
Location: It was within walking distance of the train station and the Opera House.
The hotel was nice. Unfortunately there aren't any restaurants open within walking distance on a Sunday morning. We ended up eating the breakfast buffet at the hotel. It was delicious. I recommend the omelets and muffins.

The staff was amazing!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, the cookies are great!
I used this same Doubletree Hotel last year, and for the same reason. As a costume maker and board member of a ballet company, I needed a place to make last minute alterations to costumes, relax a bit, and ready myself for a Meet & Greet event prior to 'my' dancers performing at the Grand Opera House across the street. The staff was so courteous, upbeat and helpful! The only issue was when we tried to get a sewing kit, as was listed available at the front desk. I had left my scissors at the Grand, and I had a task that required them. We were told there were no kits. None-the-less, I definitely will return again in the future!

Really enjoyed my stay

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
We stay in Doubletrees anywhere we go - and while I was alone, on this trip, it was still a very positive experience. The staff was courteous and fast, and I felt very much at home. The cookies are always stellar. The in-hotel food was excellent - some of the best wings and cheese steaks and salmon I have had. That level of quality and convenience makes business travel SO much easier. Next time I'm in Wilmington, will be in the Doubletree!

Friendly Folk & Value For Money

I stayed six nights at Wilmington's downtown Doubletree on a group negotiated rate. I'm also a member of the Hilton HHonors program. At the front desk, I was treated as the later, not the former. I point this out because it is not always the case. My room fell within the parameters of all my ""personal requests"" made on the HHonors site and within seconds of walking into the room my HHonors extras (extra coffee, extra pillows) were delivered by a very friendly member of the housekeeping staff. The free internet service was easy to access (I used the wired access & set up my own wireless network) though on the Saturday of my stay, the network was down more than it was up. Service at the bar the two nights I used it was good and the pours ranged from reasonable to generous, depending on the bartender. Room service, which I used mainly for breakfast, was very friendly and very prompt. I only had trouble one morning when they just didn't pick up the phone. I'm pretty sure that was an issue of short-staffing and not the fault of the staff itself. The quality of the food ranged between 6 and 8 on a 1-10 scale. The value for money was about average for this level of property. The 24-hour workout room is small but nice and certainly met my needs, which are entirely cardiovascular. The pool (open 6-10) is big and nicely heated, though the area surrounding it is definitely the most worn of all the areas in the hotel. The desk staff were friendly and prompt in getting me a taxi and handling my checkout. All in all, a good stay.

Doubletree Hotel, Downtown Wilmington

Very friendly staff and they give you these great cookies when you sign in. Rooms are clean and fresh smelling. I wish I could take the bed home with me. They have a buffet breakfast bar in the restaurant, real nice staff, they take very good care of you and the food selection was very good and the presentation was nice. Beautiful hotel, can't wait to go back again.
