Overall, I was very pleased with the ES Sonesta in Newark DE. The suite was large and comfortable. Everything was in good condition. The kitchen is fully appointed. Grounds were well maintained. Staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. I don't trust the pancake making machine because I don't know what the ingredients are, it's probably full oif really unhealthy stuff. And there was nothing provided to recycle cans or plastic bottles. But everything else was excellent.

The room was dirty with candy wrappers and dirty paper towels on the table and chairs. The kitchen floor was sticky, furniture was worn out and had to sit on pillows and other cushions to get off of it. Outside there were cigarette butts and other trash on the stairs. Dirt and cobwebs stuck to the outside of the building. Not a well maintained property.

Grossest hotel I’ve stayed at in 30 years. The floors were greasy and the countertops and tables had grime. We wiped one paper towel across the surface and it came out brown. The only saving grace was the sheets were clean. I will not stay at this hotel again. You would expect more for the price they charged.

Staff was friendly. The room with handicap accommodations was set up like I needed, grab bars exactly where they need to be in the bathroom. Other popular hotels I've stayed in do not meet my needs. The room did smell like cigarettes and the walls and doors were not very clean. I had to wash down the hand prints and spray with Lysol to get rid of the smell. The kitchen cabinets could use some TLC. It was sufficient for my 3 night stay, I spent most of my time visiting family.

Wonderful stay. Pool was nice and clean, patio was well kept. The room was clean. We did prewash our dishes before use and the only complaint is the limited bedding. My son slept sleep on the couch and was not permitted a comforter, only an extra sheet which did not help do much against the cold of the leather couch and and room temp.

Kitchen was great and room was large. There was no soap in either the shower dispenser or by the sink. The bottom sheet on one of the beds was dirty or stained. The carpet seemed dirty and outdated and the cabinet door by the bathroom sink was falling off.
