Sleeping four guests, it offers two bedrooms and accommodation spread across three storeys from its position in Windermere. Step outside to meander through the shops and galleries, and dine out in a choice of pubs and restaurants. Stroll 1 mile to take in the impressive views out across the lake, also named Windermere, from the viewpoint at Queen Adelaide's Hill or 0.5 miles to climb the family-friendly route up to Orrest Head. Venture 1.5 miles to Bowness-on-Windermere to take the children to the World of Beatrix Potter or to board a cruise up and down the lake, getting off to explore at the various jetties. You can also hire rowing and motor boats here and head out onto the water under your own steam.

Open the door to your private quarters at ground-floor level and step into an entrance hall, where you can hang your coats and slide off your muddy boots. Climb the modern panelled stairs up to the first floor. Enter the bright kitchen/diner with its exposed brickwork and glass French doors to the balcony. Open these in the summer months as you rustle up the next meal in the chic kitchen with its sleek white high-gloss cabinets and black marble-effect worktops. Call your friends or family to join you for meals at the breakfast bar in the island. The lounge next door, with its plush seating and contemporary design, marries great comfort with remarkable style. Kick back and relax on the plush sofas as the wood burner glows and you settle down to a good film on the Smart TV. The modern family bathroom, which offers the choice of a bath or a shower, is also here. Make your way up to the next level to discover your beautiful bedrooms. These include two exquisite king-sizes, one with an en-suite shower room and one with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as two singles instead if discussed in advance and views over the town towards the distant fells. Both of these superior rooms have vaulted ceilings and beams.

Savour the fresh air from the comfort of the elevated, rear seating area, where you can look out over the rooftops. Guests will be given one permit to park in a nearby car park.
